Apple's board of directors is now making CEO Tim Cook fly on private aircraft when he travels, whether for work or for pleasure.
"This policy was implemented in 2017 in the interests of security and efficiency based on our global profile and the highly visible nature of Mr. Cook's role as CEO," Apple said in a shareholder proxy statement released Wednesday afternoon.

According to Apple, everyone else should sacrifice their standard of living in order to fend off global warming...CEO of Apple, not so much - sacrificing for the planet is only for the little people.
drivel.....
The Apple CEO is vulnerable to all sorts of attack in an airport and on a commercial flight. Flying private reduces that real vulnerability.
No CEO of a major public company should fly commercial
His carbon could be easily offset if the little people would stop needing to refrigerate meat. He is not a monster, though. He would support creating a protein-based food for the little people that has a long shelf life and requires no refrigeration. You know, something like dry cat food but less nutritious. /s
A CEO’s time is valuable as is their corporate privacy (overheard conversations), their ability to do work while traveling, etc. This makes business sense.
But yeah, if they are a disciple of AlGore, then they should buy twice the carbon credits to assuage their conscience.
Honestly, you expect the CEO of the world’s largest corporation to be flying on commercial aircraft? You don’t know much about the business world, do you?
I am shocked that this hasn’t been their policy for decades already.
>>No CEO of a major public company should fly commercial
I agree. And they should NEVER speak of limiting access to energy for the little people in the name of climate change. Their job is to profitably run a company. If I don’t get a paycheck from that company, I should never hear from these CEOs.
IBTAC.
Next thing you know, Tim Cook will be the democratic front-runner against Donald Trump in the 2020 election. He knows how to build phones so he should make an outstanding President. </yuge frickin sarc OFF
>>No CEO of a major public company should fly commercial
So you have no problem being continually preached to by hypocrites like Tim Cook saying that they sky is falling (and by the way “if you don’t believe in global warming, please don’t buy our products”), yet burning jet fuel so that he is no inconvenienced? I do.
I have no problem with CEO’s flying private jets, or anyone else that can afford it - why I find objectionable is him telling everyone else how they should live, while spewing more carbon than 100’s of ‘climate deniers’ to support his outsized ego and lifestyle.
If the company’s finances are that bad, then it sounds like Apple is going under.
Always the same excuses from this pack of elites with their snide remarks about people with less money. This cook guy is a faggot too, isn’t he?
This has serious history: 10 top managers of the IBM PC project flew on the same plane - which crashed, killing all. Thereafter IBM required such groups fly on at least two separate planes.
At least Apple _is_ taking serious steps to switch to solar power, and otherwise taking steps to reduce environmental impacts. (We’re CONSERVEatives, remember. Conserving the environment is a good thing; just because deranged Leftists worship it doesn’t mean we have to go all polar opposite and trash the place.)
Better that someone knows how to ‘build phones’ than that they specialize in ‘apologies’.... or ‘listening’.
Democrats could do worse... and have...
Wow, just reading the story and makes me feel like a peon.
I don’t care if a rich CEO flies on a private plane. That is his or her right. I do care if they do it while telling everyone else to conserve energy, or if they preach about Global Warming BS.
What would we do without all the electronic gadgets from apple? The world would end tomorrow if this amount of wasted electricity wasn’t used to protect the planet.
The point of his comment went right over your head.
>>He knows how to build phones so he should make an outstanding President.
He knows how to pay Chinese businessmen to bribe Chinese oligarchs to employ Chinese slave labor to build phones. But for a Progressive CEO, that’s close enough. He just wishes that he had American slave labor to build phones.
>>Conserving the environment is a good thing; just because deranged Leftists worship it doesnt mean we have to go all polar opposite and trash the place.
Good job of echoing the Progressive talking point that there are only polar opposites: their side and the wrong side.
