There are new laws now because of people taking advantage of elderly people. They are because of situations just like in this story where a man pretended to be in love with this older, exploitable man. Caretakers getting power of attorney, or abusing the finances of elderly people. Lot of things are now pursued under these newer laws.
1) These two perverts were,in the eyes of the law,"married".That makes for a much,*much* different scenario than one involving a "caretaker".I see no evidence here that little lover boy was in any way a "caretaker"...only a cute little bit of tail.
2) "Exploitable".I see nothing in this piece suggesting that the old perv was "compromised" in any way...physically *or* mentally...except,of course, being a pervert which isn't recognized in our courts as being a "disability".I see no evidence that the old perv was in any need of any kind of "care taking".My Aunt, for example, was as sharp as a tack and *completely* independent into her 90's.
If any court in this country were to intervene in this case all little lover boy would have to say is "We were in love,we got married,my husband was generous enough to give me a gift but we came to realize we were incompatible. This was a divorce caused by "irreconcilable differences" "
And that would be that.
I'd bet the clothes on my back that I'm correct here. However,if a lawyer weighs in and tells us that I'm substantially wrong and that you're substantially correct I promise to ship the clothes I'm now wearing to an address of your choice.
