Trump Tower meeting with Russians 'treasonous', Bannon says in explosive book

Trump Tower meeting with Russians 'treasonous', Bannon says in explosive book

Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon has described the Trump Tower meeting between the president’s son and a group of Russians during the 2016 election campaign as “treasonous” and “unpatriotic”, according to an explosive new book seen by the Guardian...

..He is particularly scathing about a June 2016 meeting involving Trump’s son Donald Jr, son-in-law Jared Kushner, then campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower in New York. A trusted intermediary had promised documents that would “incriminate” rival Hillary Clinton but instead of alerting the FBI to a potential assault on American democracy by a foreign power, Trump Jr replied in an email: “I love it.”

The meeting was revealed by the New York Times in July last year, prompting Trump Jr to say no consequential material was produced. Soon after, Wolff writes, Bannon remarked mockingly: “The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor – with no lawyers. They didn’t have any lawyers.

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad sh- t, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.”

...

“You realise where this is going,” he is quoted as saying. “This is all about money laundering. Mueller chose [senior prosecutor Andrew] Weissmann first and he is a money-laundering guy. Their path to f--ing Trump goes right through Paul Manafort, Don Jr and Jared Kushner … It’s as plain as a hair on your face.”

The McMaster Cabal: Lead Operatives in the Deep State Coup Effort to Oust Trump
Written by William F. Jasper

Are top-level members of the Trump administration colluding on ways to oust President Trump? Are members of Trump’s Cabinet and National Security Council plotting a coup? Is National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster among those whom former Trump political adviser Roger Stone alleges (see here and here) have been having “conversations” about removing Trump from office? There is ample reason for seriously considering the stunning allegations. And there is good reason to believe that General McMaster (shown) would figure prominently in any such effort.

If that is treason. Why hasn't Trump shut it down? Trump says the selling of uranium was wrong, why hasn't he stopped it on national security concerns or other issues? Why has he allowed the treason to continue?

Someone from Haiti gives you documents showing Hillary is a crook. Nothing wrong with it.

Actually, people from Haiti die before they can give documents showing Hillary is a crook.

Several died, in fact

Bannon is doing his best to turn himself into persona non grata.

Within 12 months Bannon went from behind-the-scenes operator, to insider advisor, to being fired, to writing a scandalous book. When you sell your secrets for public airing, you already are persona non grata.

He has already marked himself as a drama queen.

Did Bannon write an anti Trump book? If so, my highish opinion of him is over, from respect down to less than dogsh** on the sidewalk. Who knows whether he did write an anti trump book?

It is good Bannon is out of the Trump admin.

No matter what he thinks of himself, he is not a Conservative God.

Don Jr. voluntarily testified for 12 hours before the Senate committee. I suspect that Kushner may have some problems given the extent and nature of his family business but I don’t think it has anything to do with the Trumps. You can see on Breitbart the effects of Bannon’s utter hatred of Kushner, daily articles casting aspersions after him. He appears to be a very small, bitter man with delusions of his own self-importance.

Bannon doesn’t matter. Only to rabid lefties and inside baseball political junkies. He has no connection with the general public.

Trump will be judged on the economy and overall job he is doing.

Sounds like more fake news, Bannon mentions nothing like this on his Twitter......

https://twitter.com/SteveKBannon

If he did, then I guess Peter King is right: Bannon is a boozer because being drunk is the only reason I can think of why Bannon would say this crap.

Rabid lefties control the media and Congress. Guaranteed, if he doesn’t deny saying this, we’ll see some more hearings soon. Won’t amount to anything because no crime is involved. But, it will be politically damaging.

The problem is he gives credibility to the Mueller witch hunt just as it was about to collapse. In any event, it looks like Mitch McConnell has won the battle against Bannon by a knockout in the first round. Unless he strongly denies these crazed statements, Bannon is dead to the base of the party.
