OK. So Bannon thinks that the (non) meeting where nothing of any significance was exchanged was a dumb, dumb idea.
So do I. It was borne out of the lack of political sophistication of candidate Trump’s brain trust.
Was it a forgiveable error? Of course. The meeting itself, while dumb, was in no way illegal. What COULD have made it problematic would have been if there HAD been significant info exchanged, and something questionable done with that info.
But that didn’t happen, and there was no illegal intent apparent (to me) in Don Jr. agreeing to the meeting.
The optics are bad. Just as its VERY bad optics for Bannon to be (fairly obviously) settling political scores with the President’s family members in a way that may well detract from the President’s ability to MAGA - which Bannon (supposedly) shares in.
But then again, there is the almighty $$$, and whatever other personal plans (or fantasies) that Bannon may harbor.
These quotes - IF ACCURATE (and you can bet that, though critical, they are STILL probably somewhat out of context), only cast Bannon in a bad light....
Yeah. I only recognized that afterwards. I should have written more in my initial comment.
Roger Stone, who makes some wild accusations but who is generally right, said last year when Bannon left the White House that Bannon was in it solely for Bannon and that he had done nothing to press for personnel appointments in the Administration that would advance the President’s policies and those supposedly pushed by Bannon.
The Guardian quotes Wolff who quotes Bannon. Lets wait to see what Bannon himself says when the book comes out.
Thanks for the additional information. I didn’t know any of that. I haven’t trusted Bannon in quite a while, though. He is uneven at best and unbalanced at worst.
Bannon and Trump are having knee-slapping conversations about how they make the MSM all run around and say, “see, they hate each other! This will get them for sure!!!”...
This is meant to be a red dot kitty tease, laser pointer special.
Thread winner.
I’ll bet that Michael Wolff wins Trumps fake media award next Monday!
>> This would be the fastest way to sink Breitbart <<
Maybe it all depends on funding from the Mercers. I doubt that Bannon would bash Javanka in these terms if Rebecca is not on board. So Breitbart’s funding still might be secure.
Bannon wasnt at the meeting, says he wouldnt have gone to the meeting. Hes giving his opinion while showing his ass.
He is out to prove hes a smarter political operative than Junior. Maybe he is, whatever. Silly little political feud.
Clearly Bannon reads the WP, since his insights have been appearing there for months.
But why? What is Bannon’s motive?

If Wolff has Steve on tape, then it’s hard to imagine how Bannon could slither out of this folderol — assuming of course that Steve wouldn’t want his thoughts to be made public.

...
Yeah, and on the Daily Wire, Ben Shapiro sissy boy wrote the same article...he’d win, too. Rino.
If any of this is true, Bannon wants to bring down the Trump presidency. Why is anybody’s guess. One article I read has Bannon calling Trump “crazy” and “stupid”.
This is not good news.

‘’’’
Good cop, bad cop, red herring meat for the MSM...
Bannon and Trump have knee slapper conversations, I’m sure...It’s Trump’s turn to say something bad about Bannon...get it?
Now Breitbart has story.
“This is hilariously positioned right in front of Trump’s Monday Fake News Awards! The Guardian will certainly rank high!”

Another Trump mis-step. He got in bed with a dog with fleas and now he too is infested.
Media meeting with Bannon ‘treasonous’ Celerity says on Freerepublic.com
Treat with healthy skepticism.
