This ‘Bitter Cold’ Is What Global Warming Looks Like, Explains Al Gore

Just when you thought the Big Freeze couldn’t get any worse, here’s Al Gore to twist the knife.

It’s bitter cold in parts of the US, but climate scientist Dr. Michael Mann explains that’s exactly what we should expect from the climate crisis. https://t.co/6UfJ9Xxpq6

— Al Gore (@algore) January 4, 2018

Yep. Where others might see a crisis, Al Gore has spotted a Rahm-Emanuel-style opportunity to promote his renewables scam. This bitter cold, he wants you to know, isn’t a sign that his global warming theory is a busted flush. It’s a sign that he’s even more right than ever before!

Well, you’ve got to admire his chutzpah.

And he’s found the perfect huckster to promote the virtues of his miracle snake oil: none other than Michael “Hockey Stick” Mann.

While in no way supporting the warmists, I think your interesting analysis has other factors to consider. The earth's atmosphere acts like windows in a greenhouse, and traps heat. This could increase or decrease the effect of the Maunder effect you mentioned. Perhaps, a greenhouse might multiply the increase ten-fold. I don't know enough about that to say for certain.

There's also the effects of the oceans retaining heat, and heat being radiated away, and maybe other pertinent factors. The oceans might lower atmosphere effects while increasing water temperature. I'm not saying this is the case, but that it could be.

I've not heard of this Maunnder effect, but it sounds like something that has a much greater impact that CO2 levels. Thanks for pointing it out.

The atmosphere is an insignificant heat trap when compared to the oceans. Far more heat is trapped in the oceans than the atmosphere. Simple density physics. The oceans control the long term heat dynamics of the biosphere, otherwise called climate. The atmosphere controls the short term heat dynamics, otherwise known as weather. The source of all the heat, solar dynamics, controls the direction of the climate.

Bloated tick Al Gore is so pompous and ridiculous, he’s laugh-out-loud funny. I literally burst out laughing every time he makes yet another dumb@ss pronouncement.

Just think what poor Tipper had to put up with for all those years!

Yep, the point is that we're on this ball floating in a vacuum. The only heat we have is from the Sun. So if the Sun is turned down, over a period we must cool. No choice. The only heat source that is not Solar is nukular.

Maunder was the guy that noticed when the Sun had a a nice clear complexion, the Thames froze over. No heat spots = Sun is calming down and radiating less. If anything, I would question the factor only being 0.25%. But that's just my 1978 A Level Physics, what do I know? ;-)

In order for a theory to be scientific, it must be capable of being falsified. When all weather conditions are attributed to global warming, the theory cannot be falsified and is, thus, not scientific.

Ever since the movie “O Brother Where Art Thou”, the Charles Dunning character - the Mississippi Guv & his son relationship must have been like Al Gore Sr. & Al Gore Jr.

Th scene where ‘daddy’ is beatings junior with his hat is how I envision home life was Gore Senior & Gore Junior. In my minds eye I can see Senior chasing Junior all over their palatial Tennessee plantation beating him with his hat!

I remember the “BIG AL” picture of his photo shopped crotch enhancement during his campaign. He also invented the internet. His credibility is -1000000000, but he just keeps coming up with bigger whoppers.

“I think he flunked out of divinity school”

From what I’ve been able to find out Al Gore had never really finished any school although he did attend a few. Prior to going into politics he also enlisted in the army and went to Vietnam. After his enlistment he had attained the rank of private. I found it very hard personally, To enter the military and not advance without just a little effort on my part. And that was true for most people I was associated with in the military. If you applied yourself, took every test on time, and practiced due diligence in your rating specialty it was quite easy to advance up into the ranks with a modicum of effort. Since training was designed from simple to difficult it was rather easy to climb the ladder of success in the military and certainly over the course of one Enlistment.
