Actress Connie Britton wore a “Poverty Is Sexist” shirt to the 2018 Golden Globes Sunday.
Britton, 50, an actress who is known for her role on the TV show “Nashville” wore a “Poverty Is Sexist” sweater to protest economic inequality between men and women in economically disadvantaged communities, during the 2018 Golden Globes, reported E! News.
The sweater is part of Bono’s ONE Campaign that uses the hashtag #PovertyIsSexist to protest the international wage gap. Lingua Franca designed the sweater. Other sweaters from the line typically go for $380, according to the campaign’s website.
Britton has a net worth of $8 million and a salary of $100,000 per episode of “Nashville,” reported celebritynetworth.com.
“We won’t end extreme poverty until we break down the barriers holding girls and women back,” the campaign’s website says.
Franca also has a “Resistance Series” to protest President Donald Trump and a “Time’s Up” line to protest sexual harassment in Hollywood.
Many men and women also donned black gowns and shirts at the Golden Globes to support the Time’s Up initiative.
The Daily Caller News Foundation reached to the ONE Campaign for comment, but did not get a response at the time of publication.
