OK - so one can make an argument that these former child immigrants, brought by their parents when they had no say in the matter didn’t “choose” to come here. I got that. And I also understand not holding them responsible for the “sins” of the parents. BUT - IF there “must” be some kind of “amnesty” - there should be some serious requirements:
#1 - any criminal activity should be a disqualifier.
#2 - Anyone hoping to qualify for this “amnesty” should be required to report in and then be monitored for a time period before being granted any sort of permanent legal status. Again - any sign of criminal activity - goodbye.
#3 - Self-sufficiency - are they working, keeping a job, paying taxes, etc. after #2 above? IF not - goodbye.

To which I would demand that any child of illegal immigrants who has been educated in the US and continues to demonstrate a lack of proficiency in the language and this nation's history - in other words - cannot pass the citizenship test without foreign language assistance - fails to receive any legal or taxpayer funded protections and results in deportation.
Count the number of these illegals that have been here for generations and cannot competently communicate in English, yet manage to obtain free education, taxpayer funded benefits, housing benefits, health care coverage, drivers licenses, professional licenses, voting privileges despite lack of legal residency. ENOUGH!
