Absend a declared war with a defined enemy, I think treason is a pretty high bar to clear.
US Constitution, Article III, Section 3: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.
Use of force or advocating the use of force seems to be the key. This case may not even rise to the level of sedition.
