Fake News: No, MSNBC Producer, A U.S. Diplomat Didn't Resign Because Of Trump's 'S**thole' Remarks
Townhall.com ^ | January 13, 2018 | Matt Vespa

President Trump was the center of another firestorm. During immigration negotiations with congressional leaders, the president reportedly said why are we letting people in from “s**thole countries.” Now, he was probably referring to the nations with temporary protective status, but the media blew a gasket. In the aftermath, the U.S. Ambassador to Panama, John Feeley, decided to resign, citing his inability to no longer being able to serve President Trump. The timing was just a coincidence, but some in the media decided to jump the gun and say that he resigned over the president’s remarks.

One MSNBC producer took to Twitter to make the announcement. Our friends at Twitchy caught this facepalm moment. In a now deleted tweet, the producer said, “Feeley is the first U.S. diplomat to resign over the president’s comments.”

"Concerns the phrasing was misleading" is being rather charitable, no? pic.twitter.com/TAZ8m7hynF— Maul Of America (@MaulofAmerica) January 12, 2018

I deleted an earlier tweet about Ambassador Feeley's resignation over concerns the phrasing was misleading. Feeley resigned December 27th, according to the State Dept. In the resignation letter read to @reuters, he cited political conflict with the current president's policies.— Mary Emily O’Hara (@MaryEmilyOHara) January 12, 2018

The use of the word "comments" appears to have confused some people. Feeley's resignation letter, first reported by @reuters, cites his resignation over the president's "policies." https://t.co/fxpm12hcr5— Mary Emily O’Hara (@MaryEmilyOHara) January 12, 2018

Yeah, not true. This is what Reuters reported [emphasis mine]:

U.S. Ambassador to Panama John Feeley, a career diplomat and former Marine Corps helicopter pilot, has resigned, saying he no longer felt able to serve President Donald Trump.

Feeley’s departure had been communicated to State Department officials on Dec. 27 and was not a response to Trump’s alleged use of the word “sh*thole” to describe Haiti and African countries at a meeting on Thursday, U.S. officials said.

So, take a bow, media—you just stepped on a rake again. For all the criticism about Trump making inaccurate statements, and I’m not saying that hasn’t happened, it seems the news media also has trouble in that department as well. It’s been so for a while, but it’s still stunning, the sustained lack of self-awareness.

If he resigned over the utterance of one word, he wasn’t fit for the job anyway.

I think it should be reported that his 27 Dec 17 resignation was a direct result of the President’s remark. The news will pick it up, run with it and never notice anything. But they will look like idiots to everyone.

The press and their flunkeys cannot cut this gentleman down like they have so many others. Persons, men and women making a politically incorrect remark then virtually grovelling. Some choking up, or shedding tears. The slimy purveyors of political correctness gloating over their misery.

What a breath of fresh air your president is. Steer her straight and damn the torpedoes is his method. I again mention the phrase "shelf life". It surely cannot go on for every. Again and again the news readers run with it. What will it be like next Friday?

If that was all it took to get them to quit, I'd have him make comments about s**thole countries a daily occurrence. Anything that helps drain the State Dept swamp is a good thing.

And the “fake news” train rolls on. I wonder if the Google and Facebook are catching these kind of fake news stories. I am guessing not.

Oh my heavens! We are now in the midst of an unseemly coup. Make no mistake, the entire mainstream media apparatus in aligned with the radical Left and are doing their utmost to agitprop for the radical Left. They are doing everything in their power to destroy the Trump presidency. I’m not that old, but many older people have told me that they have never witnessed anything like this. Not even Nixon with Watergate, not even Reagan with Iran-Contra, and certainly not even Bush II with Iraq.

We have entered dangerous territory. The media is not informative, they are subversive. They lie literally daily and pay no price.

Kaslin: Thanks for posting this article by Vespa. We need more Freerpers to monitor the media, local and national, print, visual and audio, and report their lies, fake news, and blatant biases here at FR.

These are the weapons we are going to need to smash the Left and their political toadies in the upcoming elections.

I once did this to a powerful congressman who had lied about U.S. deaths during the Grenada operation. My long letters to the editors were published in two newspapers, one the major paper of Baltimore (Balto. Sun), and the other an influential local paper covering part of Baltimore and Pikesville/Randallstown (I was their DC correspondent).

Since then Rep. Michael Barnes (D-Md) did not reply to either letter, challenging the accuracy of my criticisms, it became an admission that he deliberately lied to his constituents.

He lost the election and showed his true leftist colors when he became a registered agent for Libya/Qaddafi’s regime and possibly another leftist dictatorship.

Use the “sharpness of the truth” as our weapon against the Left by using the keenness of our eyes and minds to find the weak spots in their armor. Then thrust the “swords of truth” in as deep as you can, and twist like hell until they drop.

Yup, he was one of them. Shocking he was not asked to resign for a full year after Trump’s inauguration. Get on the stick. Tillerson.

A Ouija board told him that Trump will be alleged to have made that remark in the future, so better to resign now.

Check Feeley out, esp. the Cartagena connection. He was a Clinton insider from the git-go.
