title:Anatomy of a Farce
National Review ^ | 13 January 2018 | Andrew McCarthy

Posted on 01/13/2018 9:42:01 PM PST by lowbuck

Someone with fourth-hand knowledge that the bank was robbed claims that Smith conspired — er, I mean, colluded — with the local organized-crime family to rob the bank. Jones figures it must be true because he heard it from a trusted friend, a former cop — and you know those guys have great sources. . . snip

Even if that information doesn’t prove collusion, and even if some or all of it is suspect, would you want such an application disclosed if you were the president?

A long read, but, yet again a very good analysis of how Fusion GPS fits into the Russian theme against President Trump.

Yes, very interesting, but difficult to show in the excerpt the “body and thrust” of the article.

I was surprised to see how McCarthy treated Simpson as a real investigative reporter as opposed to being a “total hack or hired gun” if you believe the (fake) news.

The last sentence goes a long way to explain, to me at least, why Mr. Trump has not ordered the FISA application to be made public. They must have tossed the “kitchen sink” in with the pleading to the court!

McCarthy managed to muddle things up by suggesting that Trump is indeed involved in some sort of shady shennigans.

It looks like Fusion GPS, Steele, and the FBI/DOJ, were suckered by Russian disinformation programs to go after Donald Trump. Add to that the Democrat congresspeople who demanded investigations, hearings, trials, impeachment and literally a death sentence.

Putin is laughing his ass off at the sheer scope and depth of America’s intelligence agencies gullibility and stupidity for failing to see that they had walked right into an old style Soviet “disinformation trap”, a “honeytrap”, a “money trap” (corrupt law firms, the DNC, the Clintons, etc.), and a political trap, all at the same time.

Andrew McCarthy hits it right on the head when he refers to the difference between “information” and “evidence/documentation”.

If people I knew in government security had been allowed to tell what “information” they had about members of Congress and their ties to the Soviet Union (it was left out of reports on purpose), about the real identities of media-made-famous writers/journalists and about politicians (as covert Communist Party members, KGB operatives, disinformation disseminators, paid unregistered lobbyists for various Marxist and Arab countries and groups, plus just plain sex perverts and adulterers), then we would have had the greatest political/security scandal in American history.

But they weren’t allowed to tell the truth because a corrupt Congress dominated by Democrats (some of whom were covert Communists), prevented any such revelations, and the Republicans were too weak, scared, or stupid to blow the whole thing wide open.

If you think I’m bullshiting about this, ask yourself why NO person who was wounded in the Benghazi attack has ever spoken out about what really happened that night (except possibly three soldiers/contractors who ignored any non-disclosure agreement that the Obama regime used to silence them forever).

What about the real story about Obama’s $150 billion dollar bribe to Iran re a stillborn “agreement”?

“Fast and Furious”? Nada peep.

“The Hezbollah - Operation Cassandra” drug smuggling scandal?

Security risks in the Obama inner circle/advisors/czars, appointees?

Clinton ties to the Mafia in the 1990’s including getting $3.5 million dollars from just one mobbed up union, LIUNA?

There were more acts of corruption and treason committed by the Obama administrations than all other administrations combined, and the American people know literally nothing about them.

You have to ask yourself “WHY” and then demand answers from the Trump Administration re releasing documents about the above and freeing people to speak about what happened at Benghazi, Fast & Fusion, Op. Cassandra, the failed FBI investigation of the Clinton Email coverups and the criminal activities of the Clinton Foundation.

I haven’t even gone into the deliberate destruction of America’s military (lousy new expensive planes, not enough ships or men to protect the seas, the purging of veteran combat commanders to be replaced, in some cases, with Administration wimps, and the abject failures of many of our intelligence agencies (No. Korea, Iran, Boko Harum, ISIS, drug cartels, etc).

Read ‘em and weep for America.

Yep, in the latter third of that article, McCarthy is guilty of doing exactly the thing he warns about in the prior two thirds of his piece. I suppose that's his way of virtue signaling, but all it does for me is indicate that McCarthy is just as much of a gutter snipe gossip monger as are Simpson and Steele.

I agree. MacCarthy used his supposed critique of Simpson to give credence to a smear campaign by a paid Democrat operative. The NRO Never Trump cabal will never accept the legitimacy of the Trump Presidency.

McCarthy makes a number of great points in this analysis, but I believe he has the basic premise quite wrong. He states that the basic reason Trump doesn't want to have all the underlying information released is because Trump has a sleazy history and doesn't want it public. McCarthy also makes absolutely no comments on the myriad of sleazy actions of President Obama. I believe that's the reason why Trump is reluctant to release ALL of the background information.

If Trump unilaterally orders the release of information illustrating the corruption of Obama, and even Clinton, the worldwide howling of the liberal press will not be to indict Saint Obama and Angel Hillary, rather it will be to loudly proclaim "Third World", "Banana Republic", "S---hole" etc., insults at Trump. The cacophony of the press will be only to disparage Trump. On the other hand, if sources quite removed from Trump reluctantly inform the public of the wrongdoings of the two, the press will be forced to report it, though with whirlwind spin nonetheless.

As you get to the last paragraph or so the story turns into just another Trump bash.

I wish that had been in the first paragraph, I would have saved a lot of time by simply not reading any further.
