Your main point is valid, but I think the statistic is that 40% of "transgender" people attempt suicide at some point in their lives. That is about 9 or 10 times the rate for the general population.

Thank you for the correction - I’m guessing you are probably correct. Still so sad. I wonder how much of it has to do with the popularity of some of the trans people - like Bruce Jenner. “Hey - if I get a sex change then I can be popular like Kaitlin(?) Jenner is!”
