What I Learned in the Peace Corps in Africa
The American Thinker ^ | 17 January 2018 | Karin McQuillan

Three weeks after college, I flew to Senegal, West Africa, to run a community center in a rural town. Life was placid, with no danger, except to your health. That danger was considerable, because it was, in the words of the Peace Corps doctor, "a fecalized environment." . . . snip

For the rest of my life, I enjoyed the greatest gift of the Peace Corps: I love and treasure America more than ever. I take seriously my responsibility to defend our culture and our country and pass on the American heritage to the next generation.

A very interesting, first-hand, report on life in one of what can be argued to be one of the democratic success stories in Africa.

Bottom line, don't drink the water and don't invite the people to come here expecting them to magically change to our way of life and doing things.

Enjoy

“because it was, in the words of the Peace Corps doctor, “a fecalized environment.” . .”

A fecalized environment? Is that anything like a “shithole”?

Good article.

If the Africans / Hispanics / etc. voted for Republicans, Democrats wouldn’t want them here. They want to steal elections via immigration and don’t care what they destroy in the process. To them, power is everything. There’s nothing else.

One of the Obama administration members said she carried Mao’s Little Red Book with her. When speaking to (of all things) a girl school graduation she said that “we know all power comes from the barrel of a gun...”

This is what Democrats believe. There’s only power. You have it or you don’t.

That’s why they’re in absolute mental meltdown to reattain it. Lying media, impeachment, immigration of 3rd worlders, mass murder. Doesn’t matter to them.

Thats great, but Scandinavian countries like Norway, Denmark, Sweden et al. - in their espousal of socialism, atheism, euthanasia-on-demand, systematic abortion of the disabled, high suicide rates, eco-mania, climate change fanaticism...

Are not models either and part of the problem when it comes to the corrosion of civilization.

Senegal is a success story in terms of governance, but in fact is still a sh*thole. We wish them the best in conquering their fecal environment.

And we will do our best to conquer ours in Washington D.C. , our sh*thole.

If we fail, we also will have spreading fecal environments like Senegal, just as we now do in various sanctuary cities in America.

The world is full of sh*t but we Americans will never be made to eat it by anyone.

When my father was stationed in France, they were going somewhere with some friends who had a car. The driver nearly ran off the road when he saw a woman using the side of the road as a bathroom. This was back in the early 60s and apparently not an unusual situation for some of the French citizenry. My mother said Paris was very unclean. It’s not always third-world nations that have unsanitary streets. Just look at parts of California.

We have the right to choose what kind of country to live in. I was happy to donate a year of my life as a young woman to help the poor Senegalese. I am not willing to donate my country.

Great article, thank you for posting it.

In a few short weeks my teenage son and I will visit Ghana. We know a number of very nice people from this country and it, too, is considered to be one of the democratic and economic success stories post colonial period.

With that said, they have all warned me about “this and that” which I think I would do for a first time visitor to the US (i.e. if the police pull you over, put your hand in sight and wait for the officer to ask you for your papers).

However, my wife being German made us go to the tropical medicine clinic and make sure our shots were up to date. Well, two injections for me, and three for my boy and a handful of antimalarial pills later (and my wallet short about $485.00) we were pronounced “good to go”.

I can only imagine what we need to go to a real “shit-hole” place. LOL

Here's a post from another thread by loveliberty2 that should be part of Rush's "words mean things" file that allows us to better understand exactly what you've said in your post:

Did anyone ever tell any of these people that words are only vehicles for carrying ideas?

The question, then, is, "Was the underlying idea conveyed?"

Further, do "Progressives" think that their repetition of the words undermines the message, or does that repetition simply reinforce the message?

Just asking. . . .

Combine your thoughts on Demo power-seeking behavior, loveliberty2's thoughts on the faux outrage, and the continuing drumbeat of evidence on the characteristics of shitholes of the world. I'd say that all adds up to a strong case for why the American people are supporting Trump in his goal to MAGA by controlling our borders. Patriots have no problem understanding reality.

Watch the water, make sure to drink only boiled or purified bottled water. Amoebic dysentery is very hard to avoid if you are staying longer than a few weeks. If you can talk a doctor into prescribing you 500 really strong antibiotic capsules for you and your family, take them with you .Also make sure to take a few bars of Dettol disinfectant soap , some iodine for scrapes etc ( apply immediately).

Soap: http://www.dettol.co.in/en/products/search/bar-soaps/

Train yourselves to keep your hands away from your mouth. Take hundreds of alcohol wipes with you.Socks will save your life.

Shake out your shoes every morning.

Good luck.
