Is Turkey counting on Chinese support?

“Yeah. And it also would be a shame if replacement parts for those Turkish F16’s were somehow defective.”

Every “foreign” contract I worked on in 35 years building defense equipment, was actually through a US customer; Air
Force, Navy, etc. The same quality and test standards were used as if it was being built for the US. I asked once why this was so and the answer I got was, If things go sour with the nation we are supposed to be selling these to then the stuff goes right into US inventory. If I recall, this did happen once and we took the stuff back and modified it slightly as the stuff in US inventory had been updated to a different configuration and the foreign country was still using an older configuration.

I suspect that another reason is, the companies I worked for did not want to deal with the paperwork required to sell directly to a foreign country. I did get involved in that once and our country makes a company jump through ridiculous hoops and this paperwork can take months or even years to approve.

It’s an old tired joke. I understand the seriousness of the situation and I hate the Turks. My grampa fought them in WWI.My son fought ragheads in Iraq back in 2003 with the 505 82nd Airborne.

Two of my great uncles fought in WWI. They took cared for teams of mules used to move the field pieces.

Logistics of that time were pretty harsh.

My father in law was an intelligence officer in the 82nd Airborne. And an Electrical Engineer. He saw no duty abroad.

He spent 40 years in the weapons industry.

Thank you.

There have been a number of honest evaluations today. From Saturday little information came out until early Wednesday.

I usually do well in accessing these, but the past 2 months have changed the openness. Lots of negotiation and pushing and shoving of the elements in Syria.

Since Saturday, lots of treachery.

There are still a lot of Terrorists in Syria. al Qaeda, Quds, Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Sham, FSA, Sultan Muriat and in the Turkish ranks some ISIS recruited. And Muslim Brotherhood are quietly resident in Turkey. Bad cocktail.

Any ‘black box’ we sell contains AT technology. Most purchasers understand this.

And Obama was friends with all of them

The Kurds were the only folks to stand by the Christians in both Iraq and Syria. We abandoned them with Bush 1 when we supported their uprising then when they were gassed we did nothing.
I hope we stand with the Kurds this time in both Iraq and Syria.
At this moment Iraqi and Iranians are driving Kurds out of Mosel. I say we stand with the Kurds.

Obama never partnered with the Kurds. He did give air support at the siege of Kobani because of huge public outcry.

The YPG (later became the SDF) was never armed by Obama.

The have never tried to overthrow Assad, although they don’t want to be subject to him. They still want Syria intact.

I think Trump should just say all trade and financial transactions are blocked until Turkey stops killing Kurds that are our allies in the fight against ISIS.

Being allied with the US has to have benefits.

Yeah, there were a lot of stories he told plus the big chunk out of his leg from a rifle round. I really should record all those stories for posterity.

It’s a shame we don’t fit laser guidance or GPS guidance kits to cluster bombs, pack a couple B-2 Spirits full of them and then just lay them down on Turkish forces attacking Kurds in the Afrin area in the middle of the night.

I believe there is a plan for the Kurds. Some here have told me they agree. I don’t think Erdogan will be allowed to kill them.

They don’t think exactly like the US, but the ones I know are very good people. And very good soldiers.

Remember, persecution of Christians lead to the United States (not in a single step), the greatest nation on the face of the earth. (In spite of the subversive leftist who seek to destroy us)

We don’t have to totally understand this battle, but we are in it. Like it or not.

“I really should record all those stories for posterity.”

Yes, those are important. By all means, do it.
