I am shocked that they rejected it. Even now I suspect they will change their minds. But if they don’t then that basically means that a deal on DACA is dead.

Trump made a CREDIBLE offer - the Dems rejected it out of hand...and so when the media starts the sob stories about all the Nobel-winning Dreamers facing deportation, most Americans will NOT be blaming Trump.

It would be a crying shame if it was not passed.

Exactly! But the Dreamers who only want their own presence in this country confirmed will now look to Trump as their attempted protector, and the Dems as the ones who killed their dreams. The Dreamers could care less about the people who would come after them because they aren’t invested in those future people becoming Dem voters.

Trump knew the Dems would reject it.

Of course he did. He is looking ahead to November 6, 2018, and this plan makes Trump look like King Solomon

The last thing Democrats want is for this issue to be resolved. President Trump has called their bluff.

“Trump knew the Dems would reject it.”

Indeed!

Exactly what I predicted was going to happen earlier today where idiot Freepers were kicking and whining that Trump was selling us out:

“Trump the deal-maker in action: Trump proposes something very reasonable in terms of give-and-take, something that will appear VERY reasonable to the vast majority of regular folks, knowing damn good and well that the Dems will reject it, and thereby give Trump the high moral ground and allow him to tar the Dems as unreasonable, uncaring, and obstructionistic.

This is brilliant! Simply brilliant!

It really doesn’t get any better that this ...

Trump has been brilliant here. Who could have imagined that the Donald could use the divide and conquer technique so well? Trump and republicans are no longer the villains. It’s the Dems that won’t help the dreamers and now the very people that the Dems are trying to recruit to the socialist cause are protesting in Schumer’s front yard.

Trump, you magnificent bastard.

Exactly. Trump gave them just about everything they wanted, and they still said no. Now, it’s on the Dems. I wish the Israelis would do the same thing. Tell the Palis, “We’ll give you your own state, but let one terror attack or rocket land in Israel, then we’re at war and will drive you into the sea!” The Palis won’t be able to control the militants, Israel gets to kill them all and the UN can’t say s**t..

Yep. What Trump is showing HIS BASE is that the most generous plan will be rejected, that the establishment is happy to keep the status quo with no wall and illegals. As he has said many times, they don’t want to deal. They like the status quo, and they have the votes to block anything in the senate.

The only thing they will accept is no wall or token wall and total amnesty for dacas (every illegal under 48 years old)

Even if the filibuster were nuked, establishment republicans would vote down anything more strict than the Grahamnesty bill.

The real question is “what leverage does Trump have elsewhere to hold over their heads?”

NAFTA?

Trump knew the Dems would reject it.

This was the entire point. Put stuff in it to guarantee a dem rejection of what DJT is calling a DACA bill, so that dems get smeared as anti-dreamer.

It was a trap and the dems walked head first into it.

I totally agree. Some peeps on our side got their panties in a wad but he never intended that plan to go through. What are they going to do shut the government down again? The white house has offered a plan that is generous beyond even what his base would like. Democrats rather than take it now are placing themselves once again on the extreme left. They don’t even realize what they are doing. They are alienating real Americans for the sake of foreign nationals. They may continue to lose states like MI, WI, PA and even MN. I’ve seen some polling out of MN that shows their support for the President having grown since he was elected.
