Afrin protest against German minister in the theater (Efrin, Syria)

German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel was protested by a large group in the audience in an event he attended in Hamburg’s historic theater because of the German tanks used in the Afrin attacks.

A large group in the audience started chanting slogans against the German made Leopard II tanks being used in the attacks and massacres against Afrin as they held up banners when Gabriel started his speech. Gabriel and the protesters had a short argument.

A banner that read “Turkey bombs Germany profits” was put up on one side of the hall and another that read “Solidarity with Kurdistan” on the other, while the audience chanted “Stop selling arms to Turkey”.

The protest shocked Gabriel, who said, “No, I didn’t sell panzers to Turkey, I only did my job,” while the audience shouted, “Your signature is on the weapons exports, you made 30 million Euros just through that.”

Gabriel defended himself: “The panzers used now were not sold by our government, but that doesn’t mean we won’t object to Turkey’s operation and we are working to stop this.”

The rest of the audience supported the protest by clapping.

Es gibt kein ruhiges Hinterland!

@sigmargabriel eben im Hamburger Thaliatheater. Wir auch!

A German official saying "I was just doing my job"?

Looks like the wave has hit Germany, when this happens in a Theater in Germany.

"We are working to stop this?"

Imagine that, a protest demonstration that was actually on the side of truth and justice. Praise be.

Russia has taken some criticism for Efrin, but this is a deal between Russia, Assad, Iran and Turkey. I think Putin is playing Erdogan into a trap. Unfortunately it will hurt US too if Erdogan fails because of this.

Now, we should watch the signs of the times. Are we really getting nearer? A lot of other things must happen, but some can happen very fast.

Some of my fiends here tell me that the Kurds are the Medes. I’m still not sure about that. We are not meant to understand this, only to be able to observe where we are.

Majority of German Turks are supposed to be pro-Turkey and pro-Erdogan.

There are a huge number of Turks in Germany. Very large number. But some of them are Kurds from Turkey. Not as large a group but significant number.

The X Pat Turks are generally moderate and secular. A small portion are rabid nationalist racist fascist trouble makers. They have found some trying to assassinate Kurd leaders there. In fact some have happened. It is in the news in Germany.

And remember Erdogan called the German leadership Nazi’s.

That stuck on the wall.

addictive because the ‘rebound effect’ is murder if it’s used more than briefly.
