U.S. coalition forces stationed in the Syrian Kurdish town of Manbij are ready to guard against a threatened Turkish offensive that risks direct confrontation between the NATO allies, a coalition spokesman said Friday.

"Our forces there are well prepared to defend themselves," coalition spokesman Col. Ryan Dillon told the Washington Free Beacon. "We have air coverage over all of our troops so we're always prepared to defend ourselves, whether it's from ISIS or any other threat."

Dillon reaffirmed American support for the Kurdish YPG fighters who make up the backbone of the Syrian Democratic Forces, a key U.S. partner in the campaign against the Islamic State. The Trump administration has continued to provide weapons, training, and air support to SDF troops over the protests of Turkey.

SDF is still supported.

Turkish demands are maddening. Turkey's real aim is conquest and Massacre of civilians. Killing Kurds, Ezidi, Alevi and Christians in Efrin.

Will the reality be admitted to?

What happens when one NATO member declares war against another? Does the former lose NATO status and have NATO declare war on them?

Fortunately(?) there probably won’t be any declaration of war.

Buy we’ll still have to kill those Turkish sobs real quiet like.

Turkey, the “sick man of Europe,” has long been a problem child. It should not be part of NATO, and should not have a muslim fool as president.

There is no provision for removing a member.

It can and probably will be done, but is not going to be quick.

I’m in total disbelief with all the nutty ideas that are floating around concerning the Efrin attack by Turkey and what has lead up to this.

This is because of Erdogan. Nobody else.

The nutters say the US planned a coup to take Erdogan out. That is nonsense.

Most here think the coup was a faux coup and that Erdogan used it to gain his super powers.

The nutters say he was escaping in his jet and the Russians saved him by sig intel. That is crap.

Best explanation I’ve heard is the pilot in flight changed the transponder to a civilian passenger designation and confused targeting of the plane.

Regardless, the Turks are not rolling over the Kurds in Efrin. They are taking pretty heavy casualties (mostly FSA jihadi’s).

If they jump in the US’s case in Manbij, we will end the FSA attack. Period. Is the FSA the same as Turk army?

I don’t believe Erdogan will make a move on Manbij with US forces there. He will talk and bluster and threaten but will not do it.

Now some FSA nutty might and will get evaporated.

Yes.

I believe even Erdogan will back away from that.

If not? We will protect our troops.

“Turkey, the “sick man of Europe,” has long been a problem child. It should not be part of NATO, and should not have a muslim fool as president.” Hey, if the U.S. had a muslim fool as president, then surely Turkey is entitled to do the same. 😎

It is hard to tell what Erdogan thinks, or if he is still capable of thinking.

Hate is driving him. Hate, racism, greed and delusional Neo Ottoman dreams.

Of course he finds insults in every slight criticism of his actions. And then breaks into a Hitler imitation display of anger.

Reality, If Turkey or the FSA fires on US troops in Syria, it will be returned.

He can not like that, but that is what will happen.

Yes I understand Erdogans ambitions so you couple that with his delusional thinking..it’s a really bad mix.

I don’t think it’s going to make a difference to Erdogan how Nato sees this situation. He’s only used it to get where he is currently and as a hedge against any member state stopping him..but this will backfire on him.

I have no doubt he’s hearing from all Nato leaders regarding this and told to back off. Will he listen is the question of the hour I think....I don’t think he will IF he thinks this is possible to win what he’s seeking.

An A-10 could take out an entire column of Turkish tanks, but I doubt we will ever do than. Beyond that, I hope the Kurds have sufficient anti tank and anti aircraft missiles to give Erdogan a bloody nose and that Erdogan is held accountable, like Nazi Germany, for his mass extermination of Kurds.

My question remains: Are our nukes still at Incirlik?

I have strong reason to believe they were late in the Obama Administration.

They should be GONE from there, if they aren’t already.
