If they do decide to start destroying satellites, low Earth orbit will become completely unusable due to all the space debris.

That’s the technology bill Clinton gave to the Chinese for Clinton foundation money isn’t it?

The experimental Chinese sat kill that they cited in this article resulted in a huge cloud of orbiting debris.

Problem is you would create so much space junk that your satellites would get destroyed. I think all the superpowers know that.

Because it was not necessary, satellites were not designed with any stealth characteristics. Big, unfolding solar panels and angular shapes were the rule just like soldiers used to dress up in bright clothing so they’d look good on the battlefield. (I saw a reference to this on the first siege of Vienna.)

Satellites will be redesigned to be self-powered, stealthy, and maneuverable. They will always present a minimum aspect to any potential hostile target. Also, there will be decoy satellites whose purpose is to be destroyed so people stop looking for the real satellite.

I hope we have stopped letting Bernie Swartz subcontract our spy satellite launches to China. (Yes, that really happened...under Clinton.)

...Both China and Russia also are developing debris-removing satellites...

They got that information from a technology leak in the Space Balls movie.

We could always use more space junk. Who wants to fly out in space anymore?

So many satellites...

Yet we never see them.
