Tardive dyskinesia
Various medical conditions can cause uncontrolled movements across different parts of the body. Uncontrolled movements may also be the result of taking certain prescription medications that treat mental health conditions or gastrointestinal issues.
Do you have any of the following:
Uncontrolled movements in your face, mouth, tongue, arms, and/or legs?
Trouble speaking, or being understood by others?
Difficulty reading or writing?
A hard time cutting your food or holding your drink?
Trouble sleeping?
Movements that make you feel self-conscious?
If youve answered yes to 1 or more of the questions above, you may want to ask your doctor to evaluate you for tardive dyskinesia (TD).
Drugs like the anti-psychotics (Thorazine) can cause TD as well as age-related neurological problems.
