Then there is the photo on Jeff Denham's Twitfeed that purports to be his photo, but has the CBS logo on it so it is not certain that it is an actual photo from today or one grabbed by the network so they could put up a wrecked Amtrak photo. As a matter of fact, CBS Twitfeed is now posting this photo which still does not reveal the loco's number but also does not show what should be the lead loco in Heritage phase 3.
So if you're a trainperson, you can see that there are some gaps in the info. By the way GG-1, you don't have any cracks in your casting do you? ;-)
I took “derailed” to mean partially - not like flew off the tracks. I think it was Flake saying it seemed like it a controlled stop - but took a quarter mile before they stopped. Thats why Im assuming that #4 is the trailing engine seen at the impact area. I have no source for 145 as leader - other than the assumption from the damage. There are pictures on this site that show 145 in Heritage as recent as June 2017.

And seems like you have to go back to 2009 or so find the other paint scheme seen on #4
At 3:49 EST on the Fox broadcast, the damaged RW&B striped 145 locomotive is shown alone uncoupled on the tracks. The solid gray sided locomotive coupled to the back and pulled the passenger cars from the scene as shown live? at 12:49 EST on Fox.
Thanks. That supplies the missing information.
Hey Mears,
Remember how I said I don’t mind this sort of stuff because it may be some kind of drill?
Turns out it might not have been a drill.

Congress was supposed to be in session, and it wasn’t just Congress critters going. Their families were with them on a school day. Might have been an active threat.
It’s just one source.
Interesting times. Ran across this on Zero Hedge in the comments section of one of the posts.
Thanks for that————I wasn’t aware that family was with them, other than spouses.
I guess I’m going to have to adjust my thinking.:-)
.
The senate never voted on the memo. The house did. The link you provided is not credible.
