Joe Manchin's world of hurt following SOTU (He's ideologically closer to Mitch McConnell)
American Thinker ^ | 02/01/2018 | Thomas Lifson

Posted on 02/01/2018 7:59:31 AM PST by SeekAndFind

I can’t understand why Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia remains a Democrat. Ideologically, he is far closer to Mitch McConnell or even Ted Cruz than he is to the Schumer-Pelosi Democrats.  His constituents in the Mountaineer State (“Mountaineer” is the polite word for “Hillbilly”) gave President Trump overwhelming support in 2016, and remain loyal to him.

When it doesn’t matter to the outcome, he can break with the Dems to support the GOP in Senate votes. But when push comes to shove, he is a Party Man.

During the State of the Union Address, he visibly surrendered to the party leadership and handed the GOP a hammer to use on him when he is up for re-election this November. Don Surber, a West Virginian himself (and a must-read blogger for me every day), spotted Manchin’s embarrassing submission to the power of Schumer:

Sen. Joe Manchin almost ap plauded the president but Chuck Schumer won't let him.

Why do we West Virginians -- the Trumpiest people in the USA -- have Manchin as our senator?

Manchin showed at the State of the Union address last night whom he works for.

It's not us.

Watch for yourself:

Omg @ComfortablySmug, you see Manchin??? pic.twitter.com/gP1LQgpzBQ— Charlie Cafazza (@Cafazza) January 31, 2018

If you live in West Virginia, don’t worry: You will be seeing this video countless times in TV commercials prior to November.

Unless, that is, President Trump tells Manchin that unless he switches parties and explains to state why he can no longer be a Democrat, President Trump will be campaigning for his opponent, with visits to rallies in the state’s principal cities.

Joe Manchin was one of three Democrats who crossed party lines to vote FOR the motion to put the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act to a vote.

Manchin standing when the rest of the socialist dem party sat is commendable, and he usually says the right things, but when it comes to voting, he falls right in line behind sChmukie Schumer.

Senator, Joe Manchin’s pain and anguish are easy to relieve, just switch political parties today...and all your pain of remaining with Democrat scum and vermin low life. will be gone forever.

And,remember, Joe, if you remain a Democrat your political career will come to an end in November, 2018, and you will not have to worry one way or the other. If you choose politics, head for the Republican party.

I think Manchin has multiple issues that come to a head in getting lots of attention from his fellow Dems when he shows any kind of possibility of thinking for himself. One of my state’s Senators related a story recently where Manchin had initially voted with the R position and immediately had a gathering of D around his desk to harangue him into changing his vote...which he did. WV needs to send him packing and refuse to fall for his usual trick of going “conservative” in an election year.

Hopefully with huge bucket loaders of "beautiful" coal on each side of the arena or venue.

He didn't stand, he started to rise and saw he was the only one so he sat back down. He's a coward and a phony. He gambled that President Trump wouldn't make it a year...he lost. And now he can lose his Senate seat.

He's played both sides against the middle all year. Screw him.

Old Joe only acts conservative close to election time.
After that he votes however Shutdown Schumer tells him to vote.

He has made his bed. He would never be trustworthy. He should be defeated by the good people of WV, not turncoated.

RE: but when it comes to voting, he falls right in line behind sChmukie Schumer.

Except when it comes to the issue of abortion. He voted AGAINST his own party’s stance on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Act.

No thanks - we got enough of those in 1994 - the vast majority grew to be RINOs. Let's run a true conservative, who shares the views of the constituents, next time up....

Forget what he says and look how he votes. He is a Dem.

Yes. I'm really tired of people, especially out-of-staters, chugging the Joe Manchin Kool-Aid. The man's no good; even if he did switch parties he'd be a major league RINO. Away with him.

PATRICK MORRISEY FOR US SENATE!!!
