“When asked by Infratest dimap which groups of people they feared the most, almost a third of respondents said “foreigners and refugees.” The second most-feared group, “neo-Nazis and right-wing extremists,” lagged behind at 13 percent.”

That is a significant difference, yet we’re supposed to believe the German right poses the same danger as foreigners. 1/3 vs. 1/8 - and the 1/8 were probably the foreigners themselves...

Don’t close the doors and windows to keep the flies out, just go buy more fly swatters. Brilliant!

I posted an article here a while back about private gun ownership in Europe. Turns out the Euros, especially northern Euros, are much more well armed than you might think. IIRC, several countries were just slightly below Swiss levels.

It was based on a wiki article, so the real numbers were probably even higher than the what the study cited.

They can raid their own kitchens, sharpen up and start carrying their chef’s knives right now...and begin training with them.

They look like they’d be pretty formidable against an unsuspecting mozelloid attacker.

So does owning weapons guarantee a higher level of safety? According to criminologist and lawyer Arthur Kreuzer, the answer is “no.” “In extreme psychological situations, many people resort to using guns and shoot themselves or others,” he said at a lecture at the German Police University in July 2017. “If guns are not at hand, some spontaneous suicides or accidental killings can be avoided.” …

I have owned guns for well over 55 years now and never shot myself or others.

Typical statist propaganda. Not shown to be true at all.

A little training and such incidents become very rare.

I prefer my tungsten carbide (with other metals to provide flexibility) katana that has a Rockwell hardness close to diamonds and can hold an edge. But yeah, machetes work too.

Actually a flashlight - esp some of the new high lumen LED (basically laser diode) ones can be quite effective. That said, you are correct.

Thanks. It is.

Three key properties you want in a sword: Hard so it can cut through things. Can hold an edge. And flexible so it bends rather than shatters on impact if it fails to make a cut. Spent about a year tracking down my blade. Cost a bit when I bought it. Lol.

Have pruned inch thick rose bush stalks with this one. Those things are HARD. Cut through them like a hot knife through butter. (My brother’s electric hedge clippers broke when he tried. I just said step back and went snicker snack.)

Of course no blade means anything if you haven’t trained with it.

It is a little heavy. About 12 pounds. Full fuller and some other design details help with the weight.
