OK.
We had ‘fake news’...
and now we have
‘fake FBI’.
When I stepped into the shower, I was stunned to find that water was wet.
I was alive in 1998. Isikoff was angry that his editors spiked the Lewinsky story. Your version turns historical facts on their head.
I was on Free Republic in 1997-1998.
Spikey was bragging it up around town about his "Lewinsky scoop".
So, yeah - the yellow-backed bastard protected a Democrat president.
If he wasn't protecting The Pant-Load, he would have spilled the beans to the Special Counsel in the interests of the country.
But "Spikey" didn't want his invitations to the "kept journo kiddy table" to dry up. No moar free booze or whores-douvers, dontcha know?
Your memory of 1998 has not held up well.
Isikoff approached Starr about his story. At Starr's request, Isikoff held off for 36 hours allowing Starr time to have Lewinsky participate in a sting and record conversations.
BTW - eff Isikoff. He’s a lying sack of Schiff.
You DID know about the fact that Spikey the Liar was bragging the story up all over town, didn't you?
A "yes" or "no" will suffice. ;-)
You may have known that Isikoff was bragging about the story. But Ken Starr, Betty Currie, and Vernon Jordan didn’t know about it. You had information that no one else did.
I was cracking a small joke. Lighten up, Francis. And it discredits the what?
Well, except maybe Matt Drudge - MONTHS before "Spikey" had to "hold off for 36 hours".
The lying sack of Schiff Isikoff KNEW that his "scoop" was going to go "poof" like a fart in a windstorm, after he spent more than half a year dragging his feet on it...
"July 4, 1997: The Drudge Report says Newsweek's Michael Isikoff is on the trail of a second Paula Jones--this one inside the White House. Drudge doesn't identify the woman."
I can't believe there's someone on FR defending that lying POS...
A simple "yes" or "no" will suffice.
It appears your memory of 1997 isn't any better than your memory of 1998.
In July 1997, Drudge was reporting that Isikoff was working on the Kathleen Willey story.
A simple "yes" or "no" will suffice.
Why are you avoiding answering the Alamo-Girl question?
You also wrote: "But Ken Starr, Betty Currie, and Vernon Jordan didnt know about it [the Lewinsky story]."
You have an interesting grasp of the key players.
But one of your key players had actually heard of the story...
Your continued refusal to give your bonafides on FR archival knowledge puts the lie to your contentions.
It's been more than 10 minutes. We can assume you're trying to bone up on a subject you know nothing about: Alamo-Girl.
You don't figure out who Alamo-Girl is in 20 minutes on Google.
Her stuff is WAY too voluminous for that...
I have no interest in you. I’ve shown you archives of the Drudge Report from 1997. I’ve shown you contemporaneous reports from 1998 that show Isikoff was angry with his editors. I’ve shown you Newsweek reports from 1998 that show how this story developed. You are not interested in primary sources. It isn’t clear to me why you cling to your fuzzy memory of 1997-1998 when it is shown to be wrong. If you’d like to discuss facts instead of your distorted memory, I may change my mind.
FU, n00bie troll.
Anything you post is just noise to confuse the real issues on The Memo.
Michael "Spikey" Isikoff is a lying sack of Schiff.
July 4, 1997: The Drudge Report says Newsweek's Michael Isikoff is on the trail of a second Paula Jones--this one inside the White House. Drudge doesn't identify the woman. It appears "Alamo Girl" supports my version of events.July 28, 1997: Drudge reports that Kathleen Willey is the woman Bill Clinton sexually harrassed inside the White House.
You already outed yourself as a "Google expert" on Free Republic.
You don't know Schiff. You got a dog in this Isikoff fight.
Interesting.
