A major optical fiber product manufacturer who has a plant overlooking I85 in Norcross, GA announced Tuesday that it is planning a $138.9 million expansion of that plant and another facility in Carroll County GA.
OFS Fitel LLC said the expansion of the Norcross and Carrollton facilities will create 200 new jobs as parent company, Furukawa Electric Co. Ltd. works to increase its optical fiber manufacturing capacity. Last year, Furukawa announced that it wants to nearly double manufacturing capacity by next year.
