A government job is not like being a clerk at ACE hardware. There are layers upon layers of processes and policies surrounding every aspect of being a civil “servant.” Probably no one has the ability to fire a government employee outright. Even if they brought a gun to work and were caught with drugs at their desk, I suspect you’d have to refer them to HR and HR would like the whole matter to just go away.

The process I had to go through to fire a poorly performing employee at a large company was long and involved. Most managers simply gave them mediocre reviews and shunted them off to someplace where they weren’t perceived as doing any harm. (Believe me, just having some of these people in the building did harm to morale and it often, for various reasons, caused good people to find other employment.)

General,
You know firing a gub mint employee for any reason is nearly impossible.
There are very many individuals involved in this criminal caper.
Not a single person has seen a moments time in jail.
That is a crime as it devalues citizens confidence in anything gub mint.
Until and unless many many of these criminals get some serious prison time then out whole legal system is horse shit.

Yes. Even back in the 90s, a fellow I knew who was an exec at Proctor and Gamble had an employee who was useless and difficult. When he was told he was going to be let go, he laughed at them and said he had AIDS. They did not fire him. They did transfer him to the Boston office, and gave him a chair and a desk, and no assignments. It was that bad.

I worked HR in local government. One manager discovered that a secretary in the Building Dept. Had been shredding ALL of her filing instead of filing it for a couple years. They wanted to fire her ass but the lovely SEIU stepped in. She was two years from retirement, so they sent her home and continued paying her for two years at home until she could officially retire.

And, speaking of HR, what the hell is Strzok doing there now? In that department he has the perfect access and opportunity to wreak havoc in so many ways. He can mess with files of everyone at FBI, and perhaps everyone who has security clearances. What were they thinking?

You never figured it out? You give them GREAT reviews so someone else will take them. It is impossible to demote or fire so you promote them up.

Surely there are toilets somewhere that need cleaning.

I’m a clerk at Ace hardware. Totally offended by your comment! 😉
