The aim is to paint the Republicans as "felons", which plays into a knee-jerk judgment by 80% of Americans. "Erma Gob yer a crimnul!!!"
I see it on Twitter every day - D'Souza, a powerful voice, is dismissed as a "felon".
Interesting observation: No one in the Clinton or 0bama administrations was prosecuted for the felonies they obviously committed. Check it. It will blow your mind.
And not to be a Birther, but one cannot help but think that the Birthers will somehow be vindicated.
