Mitch McConnell’s blank check to the Left
Conservative Review ^ | Feb 8, 2018 | Daniel Horowitz

Posted on 02/08/2018 1:02:25 PM PST by huldah1776

Not only did Mitch McConnell just give Schumer everything he wanted on budget and health care, he ensured that for the remainder of the year, Democrats can get everything they want and conservatives will not pass a single priority. Not one.

snip

McConnell is planning to introduce debate in the Senate on immigration next week by putting forth a blank bill with nothing in it. He will then allow anyone to offer amendments, and, in his words, “whoever gets to 60 wins.”

snip

The GOP platform has become a free-for-all. The only ones who don’t get blank checks are conservatives. While cutting a deal with Schumer to raise the debt ceiling and increase the debt to unthinkable levels, McConnell has agreed to prevent conservatives from making any push to pass a single good piece of legislation this year. Section 30103 of the McConnell bill treats the budget caps for FY 2019 as if they are the official annual budget, which means that there will be no budget reconciliation this year. As we warned last month, without budget reconciliation, there is no way to pass conservative health care priorities or welfare reform. And that is exactly the way McConnell wants it.

snip

However, he is well aware of the fact that this framework eliminates the only vehicle Republicans would have to do anything with welfare and entitlements.

Every special interest in this deal gets funded. The only priority that is not addressed is defunding a private group that kept aborted babies alive to harvest their organs.

Nobody is even speaking about defunding Planned Parenthood.

I am fuming, disgusted, and appalled. WHAT IS THIS? No wall funding either.

McConnell is a demoncrat.

IMO the only good thing McConnell can point to, is his facilitation of judge approvals.

Even the tax bill could have been much more simple and straight forward.

He is doing this so they will accept the immigration deal with a wall and citizenship for 1.8 million?

Basically the strategy on immigration is to appear conciliatory, but between Trump’s veto threat, and the huge range of opinions from Right to Left, that no one is going to be able to compromise on one approach. I guess there won’t be a deal, and meanwhile the courts have rescinded Trump’s Exec Order ending DACA, and the administration has not requested a stay of that ruling, so it’s basically “as you were”

This is a disaster for us and should be resisted fiercely. I told everyone here on numerous concerned posts that McConnell was going to gut the leverage for the wall by having a wall free daca vote. I was right. I told you that 9 to 11 Senate RINOS will vote for Daca only, The only leverage left was the budget— there is no wall in the budget. I told you that paul RINO would collapse like a Florida sink hole on a straight DACA vote with only 30 RINO votes joinung the rats. HE ANNOUNCED THAT TODAY!!!We have been screwed blued and tatooed — TOTALLY. We will loose in 18 and if Trump does not veto the clean Daca bill — he is finished with the base. Would you like to know anything else?

Trump will veto a bad immigration bill.
Wasn’t going to be any movement on entitlements and welfare in an election year anyway.

Still, I’m not a happy camper.
Jones’ win just made it worse.

The Republican Party Leadership in the House and Senate share NOTHING with the base of the party.

How much longer do we have to endure this inversion of our beliefs?

This is a two year “Budget”...money for the wall is not included....in two years, we will be over the abyss.

I doubt Trump and his administration, with reason, will tell the courts they have no constitutional right to tell the president anything on foreign policy, or who may come here. It would look like intimidation to everyone else, because that’s what the media and communist party (but I repeat myself) would call it.

Someone outside the administration with a legal, preferably constitutional background should tell the courts they have no authority to say yes or no on foreign policy.

CONGRESS is their Daddy, All the courts were created and operate at the direction of Congress, they have Direct Control over the entire Judiciary, including what the supreme Court can hear

see Article 3!

If Mr. Trump signs a budget without wall funding then he is thru politically. That will be the end.

McConnell takes his orders and money from K Street. There are no well-funded organized special interest groups lining McConnell’s pockets in support of huge spending cuts. Until that happens, we’re screwed.

Mitch’s deal means 1/4 trillion in new debt, one reason the market is falling.

It’s the ‘Mitch Ditch’!

Trump is succeeding no matter what they do and in ways they never thought possible.

That scares the He!! out of the establishment of both parties.

Maybe their plan is to try to piss off the republican base so very few vote in the next elections and everything is turned over to Schumer and Pelosi.

“citizenship for 1.8 million?”

Almost every little nino had a big helper helping them travel hundreds of miles.

The posterior of the camel is next.
