Russias President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have spoken on the phone.
According to a statement issued by the Turkish Presidency, Putin and Erdoğan agreed to hold a second summit after Sochi. The summit will be held with Russia, Turkey and Iran at a date not yet determined.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitri Peskov spoke to the Russian news agency Ria Novosti and said, There was talk about a meeting of the three presidents. A date hasnt been set yet.
Russia, Iran and Turkeys administrators had come together in Sochi in November, and after this summit the Syrian National Dialogue Congress was held in Sochi again by late January.
Kurds refused to participate in the congress that coincided with the start of the invasion attacks against Afrin and held Russia responsible for Turkeys attacks by allowing the use of the airspace. In the end, Sochi turned out to be a fiasco.
Now, this is based on a statement issued by "the Turkish Presidency"? It did not say by Erdogan. Erdogan would want this because being in Istanbul would automatically preclude the Kurds and any US representatives from participating in the summit.
I have found this source reliable in general. Recently, when I post a link on Twitter for an ANF News's URL, I get an error message and it refuses to let me. (I've figured out a way to circumvent that)
"Kurds refused to participate in the congress that coincided with the start of the invasion attacks against Afrin and held Russia responsible for Turkeys attacks by allowing the use of the airspace."
More recently, there was an attack on a SDF position shared with US support elements, East of the Euphrates River, that came under attack by a 500 man assault including tanks and armored vehicles. Reports say our support team tried to deconflict the incident which fired artillery within 500 meters of the shared position and it continued. At that point we acted in self defense. Result reported was 100 dead members of the SAA (Syrian) troops and tanks destroyed. I suspect those "Syrian Troops" were in fact Iranian forces. It appears the assault was to capture a gas field in the area.
DEBKAfiles exclusive sources report that the US special operations forces posted on the rivers east bank saw a Russian team of military engineers laying a floating bridge across the river 8km north of Deir ez-Zour.
Around 500 Syrian commandos, Hizballah and Shiite militiamen, under Iranian command, were sighted about to make the crossing.
US jets and helicopters went into action when the crossing began, destroying the bridge. US special operations waiting on the eastern bank wiped out the Syrian allied force as it landed, as well the the bridgehead they had started setting up.
US-led coalition spokesmen estimated that up to 100 Syrian and Hizballah fighters lost their lives in the engagement, possibly including some Russians.
There were no American casualties.

Thanks for details. Some of that I had not read before.
Debka is at times very accurate, at other times not.
It sounds credible to me.
Translation: Turkey banned YPG/PKK as a precondition for their own attendance, and did so well before the Syria incursion began.
Debka is at times very accurate, at other times not.

just like any other news source ...
Since they changed their format to include comments, the articles seem to be just slightly ahead of similar reports from other news outlets.
Thanks for that. I see that same effect occasionally in US MSM. But it is not wide spread enough.
No, actually when Turkey invaded Efrin, they decided that they could not attend. Quite an understandable response.
Hey! Read this from the war zone on the battle - Spooky (AC-130U/W) was in!

For example this is from January 4th 2018: PYD cannot represent Syrian Kurds at the upcoming Sochi congress, Kalın says
No amount of spin on your part is going to change that fact.
Turkey is not the sole decision maker of who attends the meetings.
It is Turkey, Iran and probably Russia that wants the Kurds out of the way. It stands in the way of Iran’s agenda to destroy Israel. It stands in the way of the pipeline to sell oil and gas to Europe.
Not difficult equation.
Awesome plane.
Had not read it was used.
I’ve been told the sound emitted when it is in action, is unforgettable.
Source of the phrase “you can run but you will only die tired”. (you won’t run far)
Gog-Magog, Persia and Gomer; who else?
Yes. Will we fully understand? No
I’m not a date predictor nor do I make claims of knowing exactly what is written actually means. Men aren’t that smart.
But it is clear the alignments are moving.
