Rosenstein is not going to be fired. Potentially, he might quit. But he won’t be fired.

Well, Walmart will require results. Not sure working for the state dept. gualifies her to produce results?

We speculated on that here on FR the other day. She does not want all the drama associated with it.

It’s a credible theory - if it didn’t come from NBC.

Brand grew frustrated by vacancies at the department and feared she would be asked to oversee the Russia investigation, the sources said.

Nah. The "Russia investigation" is a nothingburger and not very scary.

More likely she quit because she feared she would have to oversee the Deep State investigations

You know, it’s probably a wrong perception, but doesn’t it look like the ‘Rats at the DOJ and FBI are fleeing the sinking ship?

She may have also been told or sensed that her career was limited. If Rosenstein were to leave (I don’t think he will be fired nor am I convinced he should be), and she had a feeling that someone else would become his replacement, then now’s a good time to jump ship. Especially when she’s taking on water already and there’s icebergs all around.

She has been in DC since law school. She is part of the problem and not the answer. I am glad that she is leaving. Trump has the chance to put some new blood at the top of the DOJ. One can only hope that it is a lawyer who supports the constitution.

For all her DC experience her lack of trial experience is noteworthy. She never served in DOJ as trial attorney - the most coveted legal positions in the US government because the payoff down the road is huge if you are good.

There's a theory that by leaving she's boxing in Trump and protecting Rosenstein - and thereby Mueller.

The thinking is that there's no one left at DOJ who could take Rosenstein’s place and anyone Trump tried to appoint from outside would require confirmation - which they wouldn't get.
