I think the press wants us to believe Kim and his sister as kids were like the kids in Father Knows Best or similar and loved cookouts and Disneyland and teasing each other.
They are more like the children of royalty of old that were busy offing each other to gain the throne.
And America.
When the U.S. team entered the stadium for the opening ceremonies, they showed Pence and Kim’s sister. She was not smiling and had pursed her lips. I was reminded of Nancy Pelosi during the SOTU address.

Fifty years ago when I was in the Army we had a couple of social workers and a psychiatrist at our clinic - officers in uniform - who loved to openly and proudly display Chairman Mao’s Little Red Book at every chance they got - even as the newspapers were full almost daily of stories of Mao’s murders of probably tens of millions of his fellows trying to make his country communist paradise on earth - I always took it as a sign of psychological immaturity - a sort of delayed adolescent rebelliousness - you can’t tell me what to think - I’m tougher and smarter than you are - big-daddy Army, superiors, country aren’t so great after all - always seemed a piece with the worship of Vietnam’s Uncle Ho and Cuba’s Fidel and Che - plus ca change....
