obamatard was always asking their legal team if its oK to return fire. That’s why Trump removed all that BS and return fire asap. Mattis knew what was wrong.

“If Putin wants to serve his Iranian masters by fighting there, that’s his business, but let’s not pretend he’s some kind of hero or fighting against the bad guys or protecting Christians.”

Putin is serving Russian interests, exclusively.

He is protecting Russia’s access to a warm water Mediterranean port and air base south of the Bosporus.

He is also honoring a formal treaty to protect the government and territory of Syria. Something that is necessary to be seen as a reliable partner on the world stage.

I appears the only reason for the US is there is to thwart Russia. And that’s piss-poor foreign policy.

Ralph is still locked in the 70s fighting the Warsaw Pact.

He’s locked in the 00’s fighting the Syrian Islamists that Assad sicced onto US troops in Iraq. A good chunk of our 5,000 dead came from Assad’s Islamist pit bulls (which later turned on him). You don’t just go after the attack dog. You go after his master.

WHO is paying for them, and whose command are they under? Iran comes first in my mind.

At least one of the Russian killed also fought in Ukraine and received the Cross of St. George medal, according to his widow Yelena Matveyeva. So I doubt Iran is paying.

Ralph Peters is a warmonger’s warmonger.

He’s essentially Slim Pickens riding that bomb down in Dr. Strangelove.

One of a list of reasons I voted for him. Let the Russians take care of it with the caveat that if Israel is hit, all bets are off.

Putin was the good guy when Obama was president. Now Trump is the good guy.

I didn’t like that line either, but the rest of the piece was spot-on, I thought. He’s not a warmonger; he just sees what’s coming.

Putin is serving Russian interests, exclusively.

That's not the only reason - also because Iran ordered him to protect their guy in Syria.

You are right. But plenty of Freepers say they are there to protect Christianity or defeat ISIS, which is nonsense. They have even worked with parts of ISIS in cases. (ISIS is not the monolith most Americans think) And Russia is not the reason ISIS is in bad shape today - that is because the nature of ISIS was doomed to retract and decline. I appears the only reason for the US is there is to thwart Russia. And that’s piss-poor foreign policy.

I actually disagree with that. The U.S. actually has no coherent policy in Syria. We are only there because we pathologically cannot help ourselves from getting involved in the Middle East. To that extant Obama and Trump basically have a similar confused, incoherent policy there. We should just be out of there, and thank our luck that it's not our problem.

According to Amir Tsarfati’s latest video (of today), only 25 were Russians. Over 100 were killed and all the others (over 200 all together) wounded. Unless he meant 25%.

We beat ISIS, they, the Russians and Syrians still fight in the suburbs of Damascus, ISIS has fled to Regime controlled areas as well.

Now, Putin sends ethnic Russians to their deaths and the fan boys still have their hero in Putin. They have to guard campaign signs in Russia now, he is so unpopular

The other story shows, the Russian trolls just base their posts often on nothing less than lies.

Trump said he bomb the blazes out of ISIS, that’s what he did, too bad some have problems with that. Trump did not say “only in Iraq” and he wanted to team up with Russia to fight ISIS if possible.

Seems like he’s changed his tune a bit on Trump, praising our military in the action. It’s almost like he’s seen the light.

If Putins new Russia had not honored their commitment with Syria, by being crucial in the defeat of ISIS and the brotherhood, Syria without Assad today, would be a real disaster, for Christians, the ME and the world.

They have put the caliphate movement in retreat, and somehow now, some have shamefully given the credit to Trump.

It appears Trump is murfing into McCain. Sad, not what he ran on..

I used to like this guy Peters, but now I realize he's nothing more that a neocon warmonger. The US has NO business being in Syria. None. What is the US interest in Syria?

Slapping Iran's hands. Iran is long overdue for a major butt-kicking which we should have done back in 1979.

Maybe doing the dirty work for the Israelis?

Don't let the tail wag the dog. Dealing with Iran is in the US best interests even if Israel benefits as a result of it.

This idea made sense before Obama made a mess of things by backing the rebels attempting to overthrow Assad. Now, not so much.

Good luck on your war in Syria. Obama and McCain are happy you are carrying on the struggle. How many nations and groups are fighting in that country now? 13?

We (Obama) screwed up the "Syria Endeavor" a long time ago. I cannot disagree with your sentiments as I do not know what our objective in Syria is. When hostilities broke out it was between bad guys and worse guys. Now it seems there are some "ok" guys there that we should be routing for. But why?

If America would have jumped in full force immediately after a "red line" was crossed, then mopped up quickly, ousted a government and kicked Iranian/Terrorist influence out for good, it may have been worth a price for security and influence in the region. It would have also been a chance to eliminate one of Iran's proxy nations. But Obama tiptoed, trivialized and obfuscated the mess into a full blown dumpster fire.

If there is a good argument for our involvement (which there may be. I have an open mind), I'd like to hear it. Israel is pretty good at defending themselves there. I'm not sure if we are helping in that arena.

I've been noticing quite a few posters around who I would guess are of the Lew Rockwell nut mentality, and or, the lesser nut but still a nut none the less, Ron Paul.

Putin is indeed a murder in my opinion. On the other hand, some of the isolationist running around on here I don't believe are genuine concerned-for-the-safety-of-our-troops isolationists, in a patriotic sort of way, but rather stealth lefties trying to sew division and dischord among the various conservative here. That's in my opinion. I've seen the same situation on other conservative sites that get overrun with suposed isolationists.

And before you accuse me of being a war mongering neocon, I do not believe in trying to export American style freedom and American style democracy to citizens of other nations who want nothing to do with American style freedom or democracy

And most Blackwater employees are honorable patriotic Ameicans and no thugs at all
