I will never understand why a political candidate accepting ANYTHING from anyone that can NOT legally vote for them isn’t Felony Bribery and a 20 year sentence in prison.

My idea of political reform, at least at the national level is:
No term limits;
House of Rep candidates can only accept election money from people of district he/she will represent;
Senate candidates can only accept election money from people of the State he/she will represent;
Entities i.e. companies, corp.,organizations,etc. can only donate money to candidates in the district/state in which they are enfranchised;
All election money must be accounted for as proper election expense, advertising, etc. and any unspent funds returned proportionally to the donors;
Pay for elected officials will be $2000 more per year than the average pay of the district/state they represent;
Travel to and from home to DC at government expense will be limited to 3 round trips, airline tourist class, per year; and
While in DC members of the Senate and House will live in BOQ type facilities and receive minimum per diem rate paid to Armed Forces personnel TDY in DC. This will only apply while the Senate and House are in session. Additional expenses paid by the member in DC while in Session or while not in Session will be at the members own expense and not deductible as unreimbursed business expenses for tax purposes.

Fat chance of this since they would have to approve it!
