Two observations:

• At one time, it was fairly common for black Americans to name their sons Booker. Sadly, not so much anymore. For some strange reason, every black American I have ever known named Booker did something positive with their lives. Why do you suppose that is?

• Arlen Specter's most positive contribution during his long career in the U.S. Senate was getting Judge Thomas confirmed to the supreme court.
