Libs don’t go by facts, they go by what they determine “feels good” which is highly subjective to them and usually devoid of reason.
I’ve often thought there are 3 kinds of liberals: The ignorant and uneducated who think there is a free lunch; the starry-eyed idealist types (the ones you describe) who think this time Communism really can work; and the politicians and tyrants who use the first two groups to enrich and empower themselves (Pelosi, the Kennedys, Schumer, the Black Congressional Caucus, and every dictator in S. America and Africa).
