Sorry, but my copy of the second amendment says otherwise. Remember "shall not be infringed"? It's none of government's business if I own or carry weapons or what kind they are. If I misuse them I should be punished for the misuse; otherwise I should be left alone.

It seems to me it would be much easier and much more Consitutional to just have a registry of people who aren't allowed to own guns.
