Broward County deputies received at least 18 calls warning them about Nikolas Cruz from 2008 to 2017, including concerns that he “planned to shoot up the school” and other threats and acts of violence before he was accused of killing 17 people at a high school.
The warnings, made by concerned people close to Cruz, came in phone calls to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, records show. At least five callers mentioned concern over his access to weapons, according to the documents. None of those warnings led to direct intervention.

Sunday chat shows are a full-on anti-gun presentation, with a few pro-RKBA people showing up to be ridiculed and dismissed.
Given FL’s Sunshine Law, why do we not know EXACTLY how many were received?
Israel believes his ass is covered well. He does have friends in high places, after all. Not worried at all.
It’s utterly incredible to me that if “the authorities” get word that you are homeschooling your kids (of course their absences would be noticed, so that’s not a good analog) or heaven forbid serving them non-gluten-free pancakes, they will be at your door with weapons drawn ready to yank your kids away and give them to CPS.
In this case, they got complaints from different sources; with multiple references to firepower and intent; they visited the guys house THIRTY FREAKING NINE times. I’m just speechless.
Many of these “there was a warning” cases had one or two subtle, equivocal signs of possible trouble; even in the Pulse nightclub case, for example. Even the Tsarneev bros. The signs here were multiple, obnoxiously multiple, and unmistakable.
The sheriff should do the honorable thing.
Otherwise, he should, at the very least, resign in shame.
I agree that he should, but I'm not certain the members of the BCSO even know how to take their weapons out of the holster.
So much for the “see something - do something” call to the police.
This whole shift the blame to guns is to cover the results of the PC policy that favored the schools getting more money, and the local law enforcement agency getting away from their job of protection to further a political agenda.
Saw where the local chief is pictured with Hillary, and also read that their “ dont make the school look bad policy” was later implemented by Obama as a model.
Those things said this is another MSM not getting to the “ root cause” instead shifting to the weapon instead of the various bad policy decisions and resulting deadly consequences.
