Both Norway and Germany finished with 14 goals - matching the record set by Canada at Vancouver in 2010.

With this kind of surplus, can anyone explain to me why German politicians, since they have so many statists and leftists, aren’t pushing to spend even more on social welfare, immigrants, etc...? Is this kind of surplus generally common in Germany, or is this rare?

I know in the USA any extra money is like candy-coated heroin for politicians. Hell, we spend $1 Trillion a year we don’t even have.

Germany heavily depends on England and the US for its exports, so their antiBrexit threats are empty bull sht. They stand to lose big. Irony we are called isolationists when their tantrum would result in their own deep isolation not seen since Hitler welcomed muslims...

Germany had the world’s largest current account surplus in 2017 of $287 billion. That’s how a nation ends up with a budget surplus.

Not sure if this is something to be too excited about, considering what else is going on. After all, the German economy prospered under Hitler too.

Yet they don’t pay their required 2% of GDP to NATO.
Why should we continue to subsidize them?
