President Donald Trump held a freewheeling White House meeting on Wednesday to discuss various gun-control measures, at one point jabbing a Republican senator over his reluctance to raise the age of all gun purchases to 21 from 18.
"I think you're afraid of the NRA," Trump said to Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, arguing that raising the age limit was "something we have to think about."
"A lot of people are afraid to bring it up," Trump said, referring to the National Rifle Association's vehement opposition to the proposal. Some Democrats, such as Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, smiled and nodded at Trump's remarks.
Toomey said his reservations were due to fear that such a regulation would punish the "vast majority" of 19- and 20-year-olds in his state who own rifles or shotguns and are "law-abiding citizens."

Statistically that has helped how? I was 17 when that law passed. Have the DUI homicide rates dropped for 18 to 20 year olds since this law was passed?
Nope. What purpose did it serve? To sooth the control freaks & statists. They will again fix everything with a new law!
That is obviously better than personal responsibility with raising a child. Lets not mention taking God out of schools & how that is going.....
Start sending him personal letters. There is no way that he gets these anymore, not as many anyway. Will send my first tomorrow.
Blessings

Any way one looks at it, I think hell end up a one-termer: (1) If the Rats take the House and Senate this November, Trump will be impeached; and there are enough RINOS in the Senate to tip the balance for Guilty; (2) He will get primaried and lose the nomination; or (3) he will get the nomination and lose the general election.
He is screwing his base, and his base is not amused."
We could seriously be better off with a Pence Presidency. If we see much more of this crap Ima start hoping he does get impeached. Pence looks like he is more ideologically conservative than Trump from general observation. I could certainly get behind a Pence Presidency for the next 7 years. Maybe Pence will get rid of that POS Sessions and that other POS McMaster. Hell yeah. Onward Ho
Get your head out of your ass, Donald! The NRA is We the People and you damn well BETTER be "afraid" of us. You work for us. We put you in office, and we can replace you with someone else. Don't for an instant think you're immune to electoral challenge.
Light up his Twitter account. You know he reads that!
A NY liberal wanting it both ways? Say it ain’t so.
What was Pence doing at such a farce of that play called Hamilton in the first place?
I remember people getting all excited about Bush the same way just because he toted a lot of conservative values. Look how that turned out.
Regardless, Pence might be a better option if this crap outta Trump keeps up. Hopefully Trump is just playing the Dems. If not, we can't recall him. At that point the Dems may be doing us a favor if they happen to get him impeached.
I disagree.
I don’t think he would. He’s an establishment Republican and would not have the fortitude or gumption to stand up to globalists and would flood more people in here because it’s the Christian thing to do, just like.
Neither is a recall when some of us are seeing America thriving again and people getting food on the table and being able to pay their bills, because industry is being brought back to the U.S.
The next four or eight years if and when he is replaced someone is going to undo everything he did when people throw a tantrum, and a Democrat gets in. Which will happen eventually.
Wow. “Afraid of the NRA..” what great material for every democrapper to use come election time. Trump can be a bonehead at times.
The mere thought of a threat sends freeper fingers into overdrive as their judgement is being clouded instead of using some rational reason. Hes playing them, folks. And in the process, he is making a case for some future event when he can say as you know, Im not beholden to any special interest group no matter who they are.
I am starting to honestly quake. I may resort to purchasing an AR out of fear of the future. I do not desire one of the things, I regard them as about worthless, but hey, I do not want to be prohibited at some future point from such purchase.
My sixguns can deal out all the death I might ever need to deal.
“’I think you’re afraid of the NRA’, Trump said.”
Is Trump afraid of the gun grabbers?
They weren’t while he was campaigning.
Anyone know if the NRA has been threatening to be a club poised at his head? Their spokesmouth says lots of what I like to hear but seemed a bit ego-driven and prone to talk down at folks....
Never been happier to live somewhere. Northern Michigan is a glorious redneck community of polite, door-opening, flag-flying, prayer in public, truck drivers who always stop for strangers who are stuck in the snow, etc.
We made the choice to move here 4 years ago and could not be happier. Come on over and visit us anytime. Maybe you'll like it here too.
