Morning AB, All. As always, thank you AB for doing this thread so reliably and keeping the peace with gentle thread policing. Thank you Bray for weekly written wisdom, Thank all yon contributors for excellent commentary to flesh it all out.

Below are the words from my daily political diary. It is quite long so scroll on by if not interested. But do stay around and add your commentary and point of view to the thread.

Check out the commentary and insight of Freedbird for real inside knowledge.

So I erased every daily thing I wrote in my political journal last week and it won't let me re-copy from Facebook. I got an attitude three miles long and two miles wild.

Let us start the Sunday talk with a few of my thoughts from last week's events, as I write in anger and seethe.

First, what's going on between President Trump and Jeff Sessions? Now they are having nasty Twitter wars?

Here's what I think happened. I think Sessions was a plant, told to hang around Trump during his entire campaign and act like he loved the guy.

Sessions campaigned for the position of Attorney General and Trump, being the sort of person who rewards loyalty and good input. Then Trump learned it was all a set up, eventually he fired Comey, Sessions recused himself from the Mueller Russia probe because he was meant to stand aside and let them take Trump down.

Now I'm probably wrong about that but what else would have this scenario happening. Sessions adored Trump during the campaign then betrayed him every way from Sunday once Trump fell for the trap.

Now we have Sessions doing an awful job as most smart people would tell you, and now Trump is in a tweet war with the guy.

The swamp beat Trump on this one guys. He got beat up and so did we all.

Now about that tariff. China makes a bunch of steel and sells it cheap. Except China's steel is not always that strong and for something, you need good strong steel. You don't want to go flying on an airplane made out of aluminum foil.

Germany also is a big manufacturer of steel.

Indeed steel is an important commodity on this planet, needed for washing machines, to submarines to airplanes.

So when America imports the cheap China steel it does not charge the Chinese a tariff, which is fine.

Except when America exports its steel to China (probably not done very often but should China need good sturdy steel they should get it from America), America does pay a tariff to China.

Folks, it's time, like Trump says, to make America great again. It's time these cheating countries stop taking advantage of us. We send them foreign aid and let some nutjob take over their country we send our armies cause goodness knows they can't do it on their own.

And somebody tell Mark Levin to get over it. No, just because I am in favor of the new tariff does not mean I am anti-American. Levin does sometimes go off the deep end.

Now Mark's argument is that the free market will determine the need for tariffs, not laws passed by American presidents.

In due course the market WILL determine the need for tariffs. Trump is throwing down the gauntlet, letting the world know that America wants to be treated fair. Mark Levin misses the nuances of it all. He just wants to gripe and at times like this I don't want to forgive his anti-Trump stance he took before the election.

Mark wanted to be so cool and he just came off as part of the silly never-Trump crowd.

Below a picture of a yellow cardinal spotted in Georgia recently. It's evidently a genetic defect but how beautiful is this?

Two things:

The yellow cardinal was in Alabama, not Georgia.

I just cleaned up a disaster. I started a fresh pot of coffee before posting the thread, figuring it could brew while I worked. Well, in my tiredness, I forgot to put the class carafe back in the old Mr. Coffee, so the hot coffee spilled everywhere; behind the pot, the bread box, the basket I use to store medicines, down the counter where all the utensil jars and other stuff was, and then dripped onto the throw rug by the stove. What a freakin’ mess. And worse? NO COFFEE!

So I’ve cleaned it all up, and still waiting on that first cup...

Due to my tiredness which led to gross negligence on the coffee, I’ll forgive your slight of the Yellowhammer State.

What a gorgeous golden cardinal. Of course, the pic must have been Photoshopped, because Dick Mueller tells us that all cardinals are, by definition, scarlet.
