Just one city in China makes 90% of the world’s electronics ,proof:
https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/11/inside-shenzhen-china-s-gadget-capital/
China destroyed the U.S. electronics industry .And China is now trying to destroy the U.S. steel and aluminum industries. China dumps steel in many other countries to get it into the USA

A country needs an electronics industry in order to survive. ditto for a steel industry.

The USA didn't import hardly anything from any foreign country all the way up to 1970. CNN and the news media want you to think we need to “trade” with China so that China can destroy America for them.

What happened in 1970?

We dropped the gold standard, allowing unlimited imports backed by nothing but paper.

U.S. companies have been doing that for decades. Import a shirt from Malaysia and have the buttons sewn on here in the U.S., then put a “Made in the USA” label on it.

We import less steel from Vietnam than we do from China.

The media hasn’t really bothered to pull together the information, but the gist of what I’m reading from trade journals is that steel from non-protected markets is mostly transiting those countries after a tiny % of value is tacked on before being shipped to the US. A sizeable chunk of the origin country is China. I expect Chinese government ministries provide a significant amount of guidance for avoiding foreign tariffs and troubleshooting any trade problems that may arise. The circuitous routing helps to disguise the essentially Chinese nature of the trade deficit in steel.

Here are some numbers from 2014:
https://www.steel.org/~/media/Files/AISI/Press%20Releases/2015/IMP1412.pdf

If you look at all the different types of steel mill products, it’s clear there’s a lot of room for tacking on nominal value add at some intermediate point to evade tariffs.

The funny thing about these tariffs is that the press is calling Trump insane over 25% tariffs, while being completely blase about these other tariffs that Obama imposed in 2016:

http://www.americanmanufacturing.org/blog/entry/itc-okays-tariffs-on-steel-imports-from-china-japan
Last month, the Commerce Department announced anti-dumping duties of 266 percent on this product from China and 71 percent on this product from Japan, plus an additional countervailing duty of 266 percent on China.

I’m confused, we have a Dem agreeing with President Trump and a Republican (?) disagree with him. I know I’m a teen, but that’s crazy...

Manchin’s dog and pony show at re-election time to play act that he isn’t a Schumer aligned partisan. He cannot be allowed to get away with that yet again - he should and must be defeated.

Manchin is trying to play with the voters in WV - it’s re-election time. He is in an increasingly GOP state and wants to keep his seat - so it is time to pretend he’s an “independent” Democrat.

I really hope he goes this time. I am sick of him playing to the right every election cycle.

Let’s hope a conservative republican takes the seat.

This clown voted against every major piece of Trump legislation. He thinks if he campaigns 6 months before the election as a Trumpian he can fool the people of West Virginia into thinking he represents West Virginia rather than the democrat party that he represented the last 5 1/2 years over the interests of the state. Fox should keep him off their air waves providing him free advertising space to the state’s conservatives

European Union threatened to respond to the U.S. with their own tariff.

I guess the rest of the world doesn't believe in free trade.

Manchin always pretends he’s a conservative during an election year. Please, WV, vote this pretender out of the Senate.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the move "unacceptable" and the European Union threatened to respond to the U.S. with their own tariff. Try it, Trump dared. He'll just add a new tax on European cars. British Prime Minister Theresa May shared her own "deep concerns" with Trump directly in a phone call on Sunday. What he should have done was pursue "multilateral action," May reportedly told the president... “When you look at who produces the steel in the world, 50 percent of the steel produced in the world comes from China. The United States is the largest importer of the steel,” Manchin said... While other lawmakers like Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) agree China is an economic aggressor, he argued Trump's tariffs will do nothing... What Trump needs to do, the senator suggested, was reenter the U.S. into the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Justin Trudeau, what a cipher.
