I agree with you on that as well. I was completely into that as a concept when it became clear that a real political government that we envisioned was not going to be a reality...well, kill as many of the son-of-a-bitches over there as we could.

There wasn’t a lot of terrorist activity going on outside the Middle East in the USA from 9/11 up until Obama entered office.

Because we were killing them and occupying their time and resources over there.

“..the ability of AQ to attack and harm us was never fixed. Let that sink in.”

Really? Trying really hard to recall AQ attacks in America since 9/11.... Nothing.

What do you think is the reason for this strange turn of events?

Turn up the volume and Let this sink in:

This is how we’re protecting America from future 9/11s.

Ah, so glad that you noticed that the terror threat isn't really there.

The fixes didn't happen that has let in millions of illegals. The visa overstay problem is still here. Countless other immigration concerns remain. Heck, Jeb might have finally stopped issuing drivers license to foreign nationals who don't go to school, I'll ask him at the next la raza rally.

But, yeah, as a whole there really isn't a 'threat' big enough to warrant invading Iraq, Afghanistan or any other country in the world. But, we still did it anyway. Remember Mueller up there trying to scare us into Iraq, that worked out well. Jihadist under every bed.

Her Thighness and the others were playing Soros’ nation breaking game. Break apart the central government and purchase the nation’s assets and resources from competing factions at bargain prices. It’s the same as her husband did with the aid of some NATO countries to Yugoslavia and its Trebca mines. Aid the Islamic radicals and grab national resources in the ensuing civil war. Crooks to the core.

Saddam had the WMDs all along.

And we found them.

Dubya just suppressed the news, possibly because he didn’t want all the chemical weapons bargain hunters popping by to see what was on sale. And years later when the story finally broke, the usual suspects discounted it because it was just something Dubya’s people made up to try to rehabilitate the image of his presidency.

Iraq's WMD Secreted in Syria, Sada Says

The man who served as the no. 2 official in Saddam Hussein's air force says Iraq moved weapons of mass destruction into Syria before the war by loading the weapons into civilian aircraft in which the passenger seats were removed.

We did have plenty of legal reasons to go in, but I agree with most that nation building didn't work. Saddam Hussein's dictatorship left a vacuum filled by a seemingly endless supply of Radical Islam.

It’s been 15 years since President George W. Bush made the controversial decision to invade Iraq

It wasn't very controversial at the time.

Bush’s biggest mistake was not going into Iran right after.
Iran was much weaker then and lying low afraid that Bush would do just that. In fact, many of the Iranian people were hoping he would. If he had, he would have gotten rid of the source of the IED’s which killed & maimed so may American and allied soldiers, as well as the source of shia uprising and bombings within the country and general instability

No, it wasn’t at the time and Rubin isn’t saying it was.

Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but it looks like he said it in the first sentence.

I read it as, looking back on it, it has become controversial, especially since it was mishandled as time went on. Rubin was:

“•Staff Adviser, Iran and Iraq, Office of the Secretary of Defense (International Security Affairs), 2002-2004•

Political Adviser, Coalition Provisional Authority (Baghdad), 2003-2004

So going in wasn’t controversial to him, but as time went on, he became more concerned because his advice was being overruled/rejected in favor of others around Bush.

Yes, that does make sense. And we must remember; in the Mideast they usually immediately surrender when faced with a superior force.
