Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

MLK was just a little before my time, but I have put in a little time studying the man and I am always left asking myself what might have been had he not been killed. It really angers me that certain progressive groups have tried to hijack MLK’s legacy for their own racist agenda.

It’s an interesting question. MLK was certainly a very flawed man, as some conservatives are quick to point out. But he was also a man of peace, at a time when it would have been very easy to call for violence.

America would have been so much better off had he lived.

Thanks for fixing the link.

I’m not sure how I blew it.

And nothing is more terrifying then ignorance in motion.

Many leftist radicals, both black and white, though MLK was a "Uncle Tom". Malcolm X had an epiphany later in life and was murdered by the Nation of Islam because he abandoned black nationalism and left the NOI. I don't think it is a stretch to think that MLK might have been in danger from leftists once he was no longer useful politically.

I think that had he lived he would have ended up as sort of a conservative blue dog democrat, wanting more social welfare programs but emphasizing individual responsibility: prolife, workfare, etc. I think the country would be more morally conservative and we wouldnt fight as much over welfare knowing its goal was to get people off of it.

Re: Uncompromising Anti-Capitalism.

MLK’s quotes on sincere stupidity applied precisely to him regarding his views on capitalism.

He might argue the point, but the reasons for the poverty he saw were mostly racism.

The reason for the economic success of black Americans is capitalism.
