To: Oscar in Batangas
The mass shootings are down significantly from what they were in he 1980s. In fact the murder rate is down. Here is a look at the U.S. murder rates for those who have not the persistence to dig through the garbage to find the good stuff:

There's one problem with your graphic there. You can't really use homicide rates to do a statistical comparison of crime figures over time.

The reason for this is simple: Using homicides instead of violent crimes (or shootings in particular) as the basis of your measurement overlooks the most important factors in declining homicide rates in recent decades: improvements in trauma care and growth in urbanization in this country (which makes it easier to get a crime victim to a hospital quickly).
