Before the rise of David Hogg and Emma Gonzales, I also noticed that the kids at this school seemed more articulate than the typical products of our current educational system.
So, to me, the Slate article is double-edged; these kids aren't "special" because of their views on gun control, but because they have been taught better English than most of their contemporaries. And, if they are "preternatural," it is because they are preternaturally weird, almost demonic.

Better English? Skilled orators? With every sentence laced with the F word, twice, I challenge that view. In fact, I believe the Slate article neglected to add the “/s” at the end of the article.

Nothing “almost demonic” about it, they ARE DEMONICALLY CONTROLLED. You can see it in their hate filled eyes, and hear it in their virulent, foul mouthed words.
