There are numerous killing tools out there. The gun is just one of them. There are knives, bats, bombs, cars, and trucks to ram into and kill people. There are even airplanes to plow into the Twin Towers and kill thousands, as was done on 9-11. The killing tools are limited only by the imagination of someone primed and taught to want to kill or maim others. It is notable that gun deaths, now the rage to talk about, kill far fewer people than car accidents, yet no one is calling for the elimination of cars or stricter drivers licensure requirements. None of these tools ever killed anyone without the evil intent of the person who uses these things to kill.

Okay, if I understand correctly, the suicide rate is a bit higher when guns are available—presumably because guns make it easier for people to do themselves in in a fit of passion.
So it wouldn’t be a shock to me if *some* “killers” kill with easy access to guns who might have cooled down before they figured out another method.
Still, that very likely doesn’t offset the lives saved with guns—and the value of our God-given right to defend ourselves from danger and tyranny.
Kids are playing realistic video games where they’re killing people with assult rifles. The connection is obvious.
Kids also listen to endless hours of “rap” music with horribly violent lyrics. Movies glorify violence on end. Those connections are obvious, too.
The people who profit from the blood and gore in video games, music and movies mostly are extreme liberal kooks who want guns banned. Go figure.
Ted Bundy, Green River, BTK, Boston Strangler, etc.
100+ years ago, axe murders were common. But, they came to an end once Congress passed Common Sense Axe Control legislation.
Yeah, for the most part they were spaced out over time not an all at once thing so it’s less importanter. And, no evil AR was used. So, no issue right?

No. Suicide with *guns* is higher where guns are available. When guns are restricted, the suicide rate with guns goes down, but the overall suicide rate is not affected.
It is a simple substitution effect. In Australia, suicide by hanging went up when guns were restricted. The overall rate ended up much the same. Here is a chart of the overall rate and the gun rate in Australia.

Killers kill because they ‘decide’ to do just that. Once that is chosen the ‘tool’ used is secondary to the decision. ...Power and rejection are generally in the emotional mix. Some do so because they like the feelings.
It always makes me think of Archie Bunker’s response to Gloria’s whine about how many people were killed by guns in New York that year. He says, “Well would you feel better, little goil, if they was all pushed outta windows??” I always loved that.
Thanks, but I believe there is more evidence to the contrary:
Did you happen to notice all the sources on the first page from your linked search?
I do not give much credit to the medical journals on this.
They are notoriously anti-gun.
Most of them only look at gun suicides in their studies.
Here is a debunk of the Maryland study cited:

“Science” in medical journals has become almost non-existent. They routinely conflate correlation with causation, engage in egregious data selection bias and cherry picking of times and places to obtain the results they want.
They are often charming sociopaths; they rely on subterfuge and seduction. They put the intended victim off his/her guard.
Japan, which has a low gun ownership has a higher suicide rate than the U.S. Want to know what the leading method of suicide is in Japan? Answer: Hanging. In the U.S., if there were no guns available, suicide would be done by Heroin injection overdoses.
Some would say it already is.
But actually it is only a small percentage of the population that knows where to get heroin.
And I think it is tricky comparing countries with different cultures and climates, let alone populations.
