Kind of painted Trump into a corner so that when the British poisoning happened, he didn’t have many negotiating cards left.

And so the devil they have? That’s the whole thing about MAD. They now see Trump won’t kiss up forever. Unleash the devil, get him right back!

Europe tried that with Hitler and it didn’t work, did it?
The West tried it with Stalin and that didn’t work either.

Has anything worked with No. Korea?

Red China is still one big prison. Christians are being jailed and killed there for just being Christians. We can’t forget about them. The communists don’t care what we think until we put the hammer down hard on them to get their attention.

Neville Chamberlain died a long time ago but his refusal to face the truth sent millions of innocent people to their deaths, including Americans.

We can’t make that “blind” mistake again. KNOW YOUR ENEMY! AND NEGOTIATE WHEN YOU CAN, FROM A POSITION OF SUPERIOR STRENGTH!

China is a leaky prison; most of its prisoners are that way out of acquiescence.

...Get a clue. Liquid-fueled ICBM's have so many drawbacks relative to solid-fueled ones that no one makes the things unless their chemical engineering is so backward that they can't produce comparable solid-fueled ones. I.e., the Russian chemical industry is 40-50 years behind ours...

Liquid-fueled rockets do have some advantages. OTOH continual readiness is not one of them.

This is a formidable first strike weapon if it can be fueled in its silo without any indications of that operation on the surface. Especially if a large number can be fueled and launched simultaneously.

I have known several Russian chemists and engineers. They approach things differently than we do in the west, but we are in great peril if we assume they are stupid or backward.

The only thing that could pull Russia out of spiritual mud would be its own Christian revival. Denominations matter not here. Christ could move in the Orthodox as easily as in Catholic or Protestant environs. Will Putin ever take Christ seriously? I don’t know.

But it keeps them busy. And does continual refueling cause wear?

For more perspective...

MadMax, you bring up North Korea and China...the modern incantations of which we owe directly to Soviet Russia.

Prior to Stalin installing the Kim Il Sung regime (not to mention his purge of thousands of ethnic Koreans from mainland Russia) — North Korea was a haven for American missionaries. Including Billy Graham’s family. It was dubbed “the Jerusalem of the East.” Now look at it. A Gulag ridden hell hole. And Russia still maintains friendly ties with it.

North Korean slaves on loan from Kim Jong Un helped build the World Cup stadiums among other things.

CHINA: Indeed the USSR most certainly had something to do with Mao Zedong, the millions he murdered, and the current crop of unrepentant leadership there now.

Need we go into Soviet Russia’s contributions to helping forge the modern American Left, the modern abortion movement, its legacy of anti-Zionist alliances with Muslims, etc...etc...

And we think this legacy is too far in the past to acknowledge?

Look at how easily cozied up Putin gets with the likes of Iran...

How soon will Russia have those positioned in Syria?

Fascinating.

I wonder what kind of maneuver is that - where the bottom part of the rocket assembly blows off to the side at launch?

My point exactly. You are not understanding my position, couldn’t be more off base. But it gave you a chance to exercise so all is not lost.

It certainly did.

I don’t trust the Brits right now but whoever poisoned those folks it was completely over the line.

I have been completely stunned by the callousness I have seen from our own CIA’s assassinations and by the knowledge that there are hacking traces being applied to make it seem that the hackers are Russia or some other country when they are not. We are sold a bill of goods routinely. The British Secret Service was used to vilify POTUS so I don’t believe them without a bit of proof.

I don’t think POTUS kisses up at all, nor do I think he should. I think Countries are concerned with saving face and often bite of their noses to spite their faces. It is better that they lose face by not cooperating with agreements that that they feel they lose face by not resisting or not showing aggression against us.

A poster above brought up Chamberlain. Couldn’t be more off base. I have not suggested appeasement or ignoring bad actions. At the beginning of his Presidency POTUS had the opportunity to work with Russia to contain Syria and put pressure on NK. They did go along to a limited extent. But the Dems made it impossible by their sabre rattling. If we brought Russia to the table it would be to forge some level of agreement on matters of mutual interest. By setting the relationship as mutual benefit we would have leverage in future to pull/push them towards a more benign posture.

POTUS has made progress toward USA energy export and created business deals that will switch oil purchases away from Russia to American oil. That will weaken Russia and may reduce its aggression and give us leverage to keep them in check. Better at the table than at war. Provoking them is foolish. The sanctions are needed at this point but are partially the result of a chain of events not all of which lie at Russia’s doorstep.

Your analysis is a bit short sighted. Putin’s position has little to do with our internal politics. Putin knows that one has to bargain from a position of strength. The Russians and the Chinese have been working hard the last 10 years to close the gap with the US in multiple areas of warfare, while under Obama, we were all but disarming. The Russians and the Chinese have been successful in many of their endeavors and they will use that leverage to their own advantage.

Nothing is static. The US has been weakened from within by it’s leaders with Soros & Russia’s encouragement. That is by our mistakes (electing BHO, Clinton etc). We are finally waking up and at least a % of American’s are looking behind the mirror and reclaiming American greatness. It was ours to throw away & ours to reclaim not the Russians. The foolish & greedy would sell us for a slogan or a sou.

Of course the Russians & Chinese are trying to close the gap; it’s in their interest. It is in ours to stay several steps ahead as POTUS has made possible by signing the blasted Omnibus bill. You are completely right: “Russians and the Chinese have been successful in many of their endeavors and they will use that leverage to their own advantage.”

But that is just human nature, They are not having it their own way right now because of one man, Donald J Trump. He believes as I do that it would be a good thing to have a working relationship with Russia in areas where we have mutually aligned interests. From there with some evidence of mutual cooperation some of the other issues where our Countries do not agree might be hammered out.

I stand in good company and I do not believe President Trump is short sighted. I fail to see the endpoint for all those who persist in making Russia out to be the arch villain, other than war. Perhaps soul satisfying in some way but that posture doesn’t make us safer or decrease the level of aggression worldwide. It gives us no leverage in allowing the Crimea a voice in it’s fate. President Trump specializes in assigning ownership of problems.

If Russia comes to the table with us they will be assigned ownership of several issues and they will be judged as China was by their effectiveness. There will be incentives if they cooperate. That accomplishes many things, one of which is the time to rebuild the military and protect our energy grid from attack.

You misunderstand my point. They do not have to continually refuel. IF they choose to launch first, they only need to fuel the rockets once. Just before launch.

If the US can not detect the fueling operation, they can do a surprise launch and attack.

How dare they make themselves able to resist by force the higher culture embodied in NAMBLA, ADL, SPLC, Planned Parenthood, Open Borders and the full spectrum of transnational globalism and banking? HOW DARE THEY BE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY!?!?!

I’m not sure you got what I meant.

If they think there might be a nuclear exchange, even if there turns out not to be, they have to fill these bastards. And then if there is no war, they have to “unfuel” them. It’s a lose overall.

If it didn’t look like sophisticated nerve poison, it wouldn’t have drawn such suspicion. A shooting probably wouldn’t have. But could it be a wildcat wise guy who did it — maybe someone in the ISIS crowd — to try to keep USA and Russia from agreeing to kick their rears?

If I’d been Trump, I might have gotten on the horn with Putin and said yeah, we have to go through this charade but if you can credibly peg the person who did this and it wasn’t one of your agents, all this will blow over.
