At the same time, the fourth generation law enforcement officer with 23 years experience carries a badge and a gun.
"My mindset is first and foremost the safety of these children," he said.
Dare County is one of just four districts among North Carolina's 115 to have a resource officer in every school, said Michael Anderson, community development and training manager for the N.C. Keep up the good work. Oh, and those signs warning the perps - post them everywhere.
Not surprised. When I attended Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, NC in the early 90’s they had an armed guard. He had a big ol’ .357 and he was a very nice guy who knew who we were. He was very helpful with things and he would jumped you if your battery went dead. He was not the stand around and do nothing kind of security guard. Some times there were two of them, the other one was an aloof younger guy, seemed to have that wannabe attitude some security guard get.

Our Church has had an armed off duty cop for several years - and they don’t advertise “No Guns” so I assume it’s OK to go concealed....using the old, “It’s better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission and be turned down...” meme.
What about the ARMED and neutered school cops in Broward county? The real question is whether the sheriff agrees with those fire arms being used in an emergency.
