If they wanted to get back in the good graces of their base, they would retro-actively re-apply the old SALT deduction. I thought my half-SALT idea would do, but that would screw over some other people in the meantime perhaps. Yup.
I pre-paid half of my 2018 property taxes last December. Last time I can claim those.
But look on the bright side:
Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Twitter got Billions in tax cuts.
And they are such good friends of Conservatives and this President.

Once we get some more individual cuts (SIGNIFICANTLY MORE) and a 2nd, more modest corporate cut, we can go half-SALT — 1/2 * (income + sales + property) — for both individuals and corporations to try to stop state governments from raising their own taxes to the moon, while still respecting state sovereignty and localism in the federal tax code.
