I believe the line “He emboldens monsters, wielding guns, governmental power, or just smug doublespeak” is a list of points i.e.:
He emboldens monsters: monsters wielding guns, monsters wielding government power, or monsters wielding smug doublespeak.
Monsters wielding guns is probably supposed to refer to the school shooter and other supposed “mass shooters”, but in large part those people have proven to be either mentally-deranged individuals, or actual liberals.
Monsters wielding government power is less clear. Maybe Whedon means the Consumer Protection thing, where a Trump appointee summarily dismantled the carefully-scripted Leftist fiefdom set up by Sen Warren, or the housecleaning going on at the EPA.
Smug doublespeak is probably a referral to us Deplorables.

I have wondered about this, particularly as the article states most of it is without reason, just blind hate. That hate is not for Trump. That hate is for US! And, it is real.
There is a small percentage of the population (Cambridge, Berkeley, Ann Arbor, Hollywood, etc.) that will cheer and think Joss is brilliant.
But basically the whole group of “independents” who make up the large “undecided” voting block are deciding very firmly: Democrats are the party of angry crazy people who don’t like America. Normal people do not want to see themselves that way.
Winning.
Not a few Christian thinkers and even some Orthodox rabbis have concluded that irrational, hysterical Trump hatred is indeed Satanic.
Seems to me he started out more as a libertarian. But the hollywood libs got their sticky hooks and tenticles into him when they started praising him for strong female characters (ripley, river, etc) and he became a junky for the attention. That’s my theory. I think it happens a lot in hollywood
Whedon’s a jackass, but clearly that last tweet was comparing his Twitter suspension to detention in The Breakfast Club and was actually kinda funny.
Well, it's a joke about feeling like being a character in the "Breakfast Club" movie where they were all put in suspension on a Saturday morning and forced to write about what they did or something like that. In his mind, he's the nerd character apparently. It took a moment to figure that out. As far as I recall, nobody hooked up in that movie so that threw me off.
How could someone like Joss Whedon come up with a libertarian Space Cowboy epic like Firefly?

I don’t know why they’ve labeled hatred like Whedon’s “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The Left hates the Right, period. They aren’t willing to live and let live. They want to destroy anyone who won’t submit to their control. Before Trump, it was “Bush Derangement Syndrome.” Before that, they hated Reagan. In the UK, they hated Thatcher intensely. If and when the next Republican is elected President, it will be “Derangement Syndrome” for him or her. They hate because its what arrogant, entitled, authoritarian control freaks do.
