At some point Russia will probably move to retake all of Ukraine. It is the breadbasket of Eurasia. The numbers are off the tanks in order to claim that they are of local Dissident-Ukrainian origin when they go into action.
If they cross the Dneiper River, that would mean that they intend to take all of Eastern Europe - From Ukraine to Finland. They have bulked up their standing forces along the borders of eastern Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic States and Finland. In other words, the lands that they occupied until they were defeated by the Germans in the early part of World War II. So far, they are dug in on the western border, facing NATO opposition and have not indicated a move to invade. Perhaps the news of this story is that they are preparing an Spring Offensive. It would not be the first time.
