Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said that whether the United States will launch further attacks against the Syrian regime will depend on whether Syrian President Bashar al-Assad uses chemical weapons again.
“Right now, this is a one-time shot. We believe it has sent a strong message to deter him from doing this again,” he told reporters. “Right now we have no additional attacks planned.”

The President also went out of his way to basically warn Syrians of the impending attack so they could prepare and leave the area and there would be limited casualties.
The President, it appears to me, is trying to avoid escalating this conflict while disarming hawks by giving them the military response they wanted.
Of course, McCain is already saying this isn't enough.

That means that about 200 S-400, or possible more, ground to air missiles were launched by Assad’s forces against the air attack.
That is a pretty expensive day at the office for Syria and Russia, even if we did not bother to destroy the S-400 SAM ground stations during the attack
Strangely, there are no reports of of any of the US, French or British aircraft used in the attack being shot down
Perhaps some of the US cruise missiles were destroyed when they exploded over a Syrian SAM site.
Some Russian general has said that the S-400 wasn’t used which means the claims of scores of missiles being shot down are just Pootie propaganda (the stuff loved by by some posters here).
